Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
I agree, Becoblue. I don't know why. And really, truly not meaning to sound racist, but now, with the rights of both races being so equal, why do 'blacks' still get extra attention as if they are victims? Like when taking a test at school you usually have to tick one of these boxes.
Are you Aborignal?
Are you Torres Strait Islander?
Neither?
I mean, what difference should that make? At school there also used to be a tutoring session especially for Aborignals. Why is there a need to seperate children into tutoring groups based on race?

Sorry if this offended anyone as it was never meant in that way.

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
I didn't hear Red's comment so I have nothing to say on that, but I find it interesting that the only comments that are ever regarded as racist are those made by 'whites' against 'blacks'. Comments the other way around are never regarded as racist. Why?

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
If anything - Red did exactly what Midnight Oil did at the Sydney Olympics when they wore clothes with "sorry" written all over them during their performance. Red used his position, unique style and personality to raise awareness of the issues, especially in light of the anniversary of Rudds apology.

Just by saying sorry on tv he keeps it all in the public arena, even if he disguises it behind a bit of humour. That's his style and what his fans like about him so it's the best way for him to get his message across. If you looked carefully though you could see his expression was sincere and serious.

Good on him I reckon. He clearly cares about this stuff.

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
Red was in Skyhooks, therefore he wins.
And the comment he made was not racist.
Danni annoys me and barely anyone knew who Tom was before he became a judge on the show.

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
Tom certainly is not "talentless", but has been in the industry for many years both as an actor and singer. The Sinatra family personally chose him for the "voice" of Sinatra for a production a few years ago and he also starred in the movie "the Man From Snowy River" with Sigrid Thornton.

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
All Red said was "I reckon we owe you" and "Sorry for the other thing". I've seen and heard and experienced "racist" so I know it well - and that aint it.

I like all three judges, Tom is the nice one, Danni is energetic and does the "main judge" role well but Red is the most entertaining and just likes to have fun. Got no problem with any of them.

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
If the other judges were bums then how did they get to where they are now ? ? ? and as for the racial comment maybe the producers were just hoping that no one would hear it .

Re:Total racism by RED Reply to this message
Red is the only decent judge on the show. The others are just talentless bums. The comment was obviously not meant to be racist, otherwise it would not been aired, but rather, edited out.

Obviously Red was having a bit of fun about saying sorry to the stolen generation. And that's all it was, a bit of fun. Lighten up.
