I think the judges & people chose who they chose,
Davids been on several times he's lost before but it didn't stop him trying again did it?
Seems to have made him better (stronger) for trying again he didn't give up ..lucky to have got the combination & being able to work the songs,Julia & entertain as he reflected through julia who happend to be really versatile.
Don't think you could have changed that ((look at how many religiously followed the julia & David thread))Say that wasn't telling who may lead(Julia)could carry herself present to the Audience & judges.
She gave them what they wanted a bit more than just a singing contest with David she sang ,entertained to them & knew How lucky rare magical combination. ((Not just sang at them))
Its television visual they talked sang, entertained to the judges & Audience
What could be more . You either have this or don't .. |

If there are three finalists (and they still combine the viewer vote with the judges' votes with viewer vote over-riding in the case of a tie) this is what will happen:
Suppose the viewers give the couples A, B and C, in order, 3 points, 2 points and 1 point, but the judges rank them (and there are 6 possibilities):
A (3 points), B(2 points), C(1 point) .... A wins, scoring 6.
A (3 points), B(1 point), C(2 points) .... A wins, scoring 6.
A (2 points), B(3 points), C(1 point) .... A and B tie both scoring 5 - A wins.
A (2 points), B(1 points), C(3 points) .... A - A wins, scoring 5.
A (1 points), B(3 points), C(2 points) .... B wins, scoring 5.
A (1 points), B(2 points), C(3 points) .... A, B and C tie, all scoring 4 - A wins.
What this means is that C, the least preferred by the viewers, has no chance of winning in a three-way final. It also means that B can only win if the judges put the viewer's choice last.
Maybe my arithmetic is wrong?????
What do others of you think?????? |

I think the public vote idea is way too skewed to TV celebrities. Look how far that guy from H&A got in the last series!!
Perhaps a judges choice and a viewers choice. |

Yes, the format is the same.
Yes, the judges are the same. Denyer's gotten worse.
What I referring to is the revolving door of hostesses. Can't recall who the first was, but then there was Kate Ritchie, then Erika. Usually shows do this sort of thing when they're getting desperate. |

mazza - I wasn't actually advocating that the winner be decided by public vote - that's what happens now.
If there were 3 couples then the judges' scores would also have some bearing on the result, not just the viewer vote alone. |

| Hi Beco, I like your idea of three couples in the final and leaving the vote solely to the public. |

****I feel ITT has run its course, they've fiddled with the line-up too much. ****
Just curious, ecogoddess, as to how they have fiddled with the line-up too much?
So far as I can see the format has remained the same for all three series, even some of the mentors. Naturally, there will be ten new celebrities for each series, but apart from that, and a few new mentors, everything seems the same. Even the judges have remained the same (I think).
That doesn't mean that there couldn't be some improvements if the copyright to the show allowed it. Many people think that a Final with 3 couples would be fairer than the current 2 couples, where the winner is eventually determined solely on the public vote. |

I'm guessing the "hasbeens" were a joke. Grant Denyer is well on his way to joining that that group.
I feel ITT has run its course, they've fiddled with the line-up too much. The other show, the name of which dare not be uttered in this forum, is coughing up blood too. |

First of all - this is the It Takes Two message board, NOT Dancing with the Stars.
Secondly, Daniel MacPherson has now been confirmed as the new host of DWTS, and I personally think he will be a thousand times better than all the has-beens you've suggested. |

Mike Munro's on the loose now, he'd be an ideal replacement for Daryl. Two peas in a pod. Or Tony Barber? He could entertain us with his dancing on his way down the stairs. Three peas... in a packet of dried peas.
Steve Leibman ..... Ray (or is he still contracted to nine?)... Maybe Kochie's got a spare 50mins a week. Geez, that packet's filling up! |
