Sonlomor if I took it on to be afraid to write forward on a computer like I did on paper Id muck up & start again id never write anything because you can change what you've written on a computer & you can't on paper. So computers help you write foward. Although not that acurate by any means mistakes & all I have a go..

Horses have the best memory I couldn't turn up for a farrier to put shoes on her he said he would shoe her anyway & he couldn't find her he walked the paddock lookin & gave up he went to leave the paddock.
to go home & who found him & followed him to the exit.
They know who handles them & that cat is the best. Finds me every time I am there ..

Thanks, Cathy. Now I get a much better mental picture of you, feeding your horse(?) in the cold and dark of a winter's morning. The instinct of animals is amazing - the way they know their owner, or even a friendly stranger. Owning a horse, especially on agistment where you have to travel to tend them, is time-consuming and takes a dedicated person. I'm sure the warmth and purring welcome by the farm cat as you wait eases the loneliness. Thanks again, Cathy.

Re:Can we all agree on this? Reply to this message
bocoblue is this what u need to understand.
(I will clarify)
I stop to feed on the way to work. Can take 2 close to 2 hours every time to let feed properly.
My pet animal lives on Agistment so I stop & feed her & someone elses pet animal while im feeding mine on the way home from work in the freezing hours of the morning.
When I can use the yards whichever I want.
Believe me no ones around at theses ungodly hours I can barely see.
Its so dark rely on moonlight if some is around. At least I don't have to find the animals they find me even get the live on property cat sit on my lap in the car out of the cold for company at that time the best outgoing farm cat i've ever come across loves people
& jumps in cars I will take it home by accident I day im sure.

cathy, at least your having a go. Good for you!
Guise & Bec, are the most articulate on these boards. You would be very wise to take in their teachings, and offers of help.

Re:Can we all agree on this? Reply to this message
Nostradamus,
Probably it suited your purpose, back all those hundreds of years ago when you made your predictions, to write as ambiguously as possible so that readers could interpret what you wrote in a million different ways. Then generations of readers could come to believe that you had foretold what was happening.

For most of us, incorrect spelling distracts us from the message that the writer wished to convey. It is not a sin to wrongly spell a word, and we all do it, either as typos, or through laziness or ignorance.

In Cathy's case the combination of spelling and bad punctuation are something that she knows needs attention.

Becoblue and I are trying to help, not being critical.

Cathy - believe me, we're not picking on you, only offering a little help. It seems you are a very busy lady and may only have limited spare time.

There are scarcely any spelling mistakes at all in your last comment, which proves that you really can do it. Good on you.

Before you type anything, think of the sentence that you want to write. If it sounds right in your mind, go ahead and type it, and finish with a full stop. Punctuation is there to help the reader understand what you have written. The reader will pause for a comma and stop for a full stop. By breaking the sentence down with punctuation, what you want to say becomes much clearer.

If you can't wait to get it all typed out, just make sure that you read it to yourself before posting it. Only pause where you have a comma or full stop. Then you will see that sometimes your sentences are too long and become jumbled and need to be broken up a little more.

I have taken the liberty of rewriting your last comment. See if you think it sounds different/better, or maybe even worse....lol.

*****The computer has Word, which I've looked at a couple of times. (word processing possibly? - I couldn't work out this part out.) These forums have a slight spell checker and I can work some things out. I rarely write letters. I like computers but we didn't have them at school.

I spend many hours in a factory. I feed my pet animal and wait for her to eat before I can drive to work or drive home again, and it can be quite a wait. (I found this sentence very hard to understand so I don't know if that is what you are trying to say.)

I don't even get time to read the free city newspapers the fellow at work brings for everyone to read during breaks. I take them home but hardly read them at all. I recycle them. Somehow I'm always too tired to do anything. I don't even go out very often as the city is too far away, and it's a long drive to get anywhere.*******

Re:Can we all agree on this? Reply to this message
Cathy,
Do you have a computer program like Word with a spell and grammar checker? (Be careful though, because there are differences between Australian and American spellings.)
If you do have a word processing program on your compter, type what you want to say into it. Think about what the computer is telling you about spelling and grammar – maybe check some of the marked words in a dictionary, or in Google. Then copy and paste what you have written into the Message Board.
Also you can google and find programs that explain the rules of grammar.

Obviously you can learn things that were not taught at school. Did you learn to use a computer at school or have you taught yourself to do that?
Have you learnt to drive a car since leaving school?
If you read a lot you will begin to see what words should look like and then you will start to recognise your own mistakes. For instance, you'll see words like "much", and when there are apostrophes in words like "don't".

Cathy - we don't have to stop learning just because we leave school. If you wanted to be more articulate there are plenty of ways to going about learning to improve your writing, at least to the level where it actually makes sense to other readers.

There's little point in repeatedly expressing an opinion if it is so badly put that readers have to seriously question what you are trying to say.

My mistakes don't bother me much cause through school I didn't have much help to find them them anyway so just writings enough for me to cope with so if your going to pick at me expressing myself in the only way I can it dosn't bother me
I cannot recognise them.

dont is spelled don't - D O N ' T - the apostrophe indicating that "don't" is the contracted form of "do not".

The occasions on which Jan has bumped the J&D thread to the top have been very rare indeed; and others have continued to post so the thread would have come up no matter who was responsible.

Well, we don't have to read a thread if we don't want to.
With no responses it will slowly sink down the Message Board, (unless the originator keeps it alive, as Jan does sending "Go David and ... Go" to the top, every so often).

Don't think it will work - if no one answers she posts again anyway. Do you think the "forum" she is seeking is actually hiding from her?
