| I don't know why ppl insist on bringing the past up at every opportunity, especially for something as trivial as, who should or shouldn't have won ITT....... |

Julia and David should of gone in the 3rd week
Virginia and Ian and Russell and Kate should of been in the Grand Final
Virginia and Ian had better voices than Julia and David |

| Ok, have any of you guys even heard the song Hallelujah? it is one of my favourite songs and they killed it. If the lyrics werent the same, id almost think they where singing a different song. |

Fortunately the sweetness of Virginia's vocals were balanced by Mossy's great wailing rawness so it came across well.

Yes, they were a perfect foil for each other. I'd love to hear some more from them. Wonder if there's a chance they might make a cd. |

Their performance of Hallelujah (tho fantastic) was not MY fave of the series but that's just personal preference (For some reason I'm just mad about Kate and Russel's Ring of Fire so that gets my top vote, closely followed by several of Julia and David's).
Hallelujah was a beautiful performance and you'd have to be completely deaf not to acknowledge that. Virginia's vocals, tho too smooth for my liking in this song, were pitch perfect and her delivery and tone were very warm and sweet. Fortunately the sweetness of Virginia's vocals were balanced by Mossy's great wailing rawness so it came across well.
I particularly thought her harmony vocals were stunning in this. This was partly due to Mossy's lovely arrangement of the song but also due to her nailing what he wanted her to do. |

| I thought Virginia was fairly good too until she utterly destroyed the song; Hallelujah. After that i kept hoping she would leave |

The real winner (in my opinion only, who had the best voice, but suffered through her acting antics left last week.
Not just your opinion; I thought Virginia was the rightful champion as well. Agree to disagree on the antics thing -- I didn't personally think there was anything wrong with her stage persona. |

| Russell's final song may have cost him judges' votes, but that had no bearing on the final result. Apparently, the viewer vote, the determining factor, was very close indeed. I don't think anyone could have picked it, regardless of who they were supporting. |

I'm not arguing that Russell should have won, just commenting on what James Valentine said. I agree that Russells final song probably cost him. He wasn't out to win at all costs. You could tell he is a genuine lovely person. Maybe that's why Melbourne is suffering in the footy, Russell, you need to get some killer instinct back, mate. LOL.

| Exactly twoleftfeet, the winner was already decided before they even sang their first song last night. Although I have been a big fan of Russell's throughout the series, I would have to say I really didn't like his choice of songs last night, and based on both contestants performances last night Julia was a deserved winner. |

| Last night's performances really didn't matter - if Russell had scored a higher viewer vote he would have won the final regardless of judges' scores last night. |

| A true musician may 'go with what he likes' (according to James Valentine) but if you are in a competition, it pays to also consider what will show your voice to the best advantage. I don't think Russell's third song did that at all. |

| Russell's last song was a little difficult to make out, but, as James Valentine commented, it's the mark of a true musician to go with YOU like! Enough said. |

| I also agree that Russells' song choice may have cost him. There were times I could not hear him at all. But the competition is over and history will show Julia was the winner on the night. |

I have to disagree.
As much as i like Russell but his choice of songs were not good. He should have sang Rock, he would have nailed the comp. The song he sang was good and i did get a bit teary but it was not good enough for the night. |
