| You know what - if someone DID write to TV Week to ask why they think we should be fed such rubbish, I'd say good on them! I know I can't be bothered to, but like you and many others, I complain when we're presented with the likes of Gretel K and a whole host of bad television "personalities", celebrating bad television. TV's not going to get any better unless we speak up - fingers crossed someone in television will at least read these boards. Another suggestion: industry voting only? |

| Newton (Bert) and Micallef were both great hosts. I admit I was prejudiced against Gretel because she is from Big Trash and I thought why would TV Week ask rubbish like her to present? The host of BT? That is just an insult to the tv industry. In fact, I did complain to TVWeek about that. How can SHE be taken seriously. But even aside from my disgust and distaste for the woman and what she represents, she had absolutely no hosting abilities. Jokes about tv execs are never interesting, and the whole 'death' thing was boring and stretched out for too long. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I know what you mean. I mean it was bad enough that we had to see Gretal on there and also have to put up with whole lot of presenters trying to be funny when they are not. Thank god for Rove and Shaun.But I am glad that Packed to the rafters went so well. Congrats to Rebbecca for wining the Silver and Gold. I was also shocked that All saints wasn't nominated in best Drama what went wrong there. | I agree that Gretel is bad, but Annie Lennox SHOCKED me! I normally love her voice, but she does NOT do 'live' well. Her voice was terrible! And what was the standing ovation for her? Was it out of sympathy, to be polite, or is there something wrong with my ears, and the rest of them there liked it? As for entertainment, I think it should be skipped, except for one or 2 singers or one singer and one skit. Just give the awards and get it friggen well over with. Awards that could take half an hour, are stretched out to almost midnight. Its absolutely ridiculous. Even last year, it still ran til 11 or 11:30 pm. Do the awards and stop stalling with silly entertainment, I say. |

| I have watched the logies religiously for about the past 30 years and i must say that last years was the worst ever, it just had nominations no entertainment at all. Mind you, I think she and Annie Lennox shared the same hair dresser, the 3 year old from down the road. | It is just so embarrasing. I can't get over how bad it is. Gretel is just shameful - especially when she wouldn't let the 'male talent' boys say one word! The weird little skit things they are trying to pull off as funny - not working. Even Rove wasn't funny. | I totally agree. The Presenters can't even read lines off cards they are holding in their hands. The writers should be shot because they have given really un-funny people even more un-funny things to say. I am now watching Borat for the 5 th time on Channel 10 rather than watch another second of this rubbish. |
