I was a little dissapointed at the premier ep but I think the left of centre humor is what makes K&K different to other comedy shows.
2.5 million viewers means it's a hit!! Let's hope it stays and another season is scheduled. |

| eckle, have you ever watched the show before? it was exactly the same house that was used when they were on the ABC and it wasn't a set.Besides, why use a set when they now have more money to throw around? |

An absolute disappointment! I too am an avid van, but during last night episode I didn't even laugh once! What happened to all the witty dialogue, the two'ing and throwing from the cast, sometimes one minute or more could past without any words being said! (Reason= to advertise the Hyatt, I'd imagine) Isn't this what made the show so popular in the past?
They sold out!
I just hope it gets somewhat better over the coming weeks.. |

| I remember seeing a few Kath and Kim shows a few years ago and they were funny, but last night's show didn't even make me smile. |

I don't really care about Kath and Kim moving to Seven. They were funnier as short skits on Big Girl's Blouse.
The greater tragedy would be if The Chaser moved to commercial television - they'd be no more "What Have We Learnt from Current Affairs This Week?" without the ability to diss Today Tonight or ACA. |

| Channel 7 simply forgets that there is an educated audience out here. |

Well, I have heard so much about this show, but never watched it before.
What a disappointment. Was there anything funny at all? I didn't see it. What rubbish.
Take it off, or put it on at 3am so the fans can still see it.
Channel 7, what have you done. You normally have fantastic shows which I love, but this one is total rubbish.
Looks like Australian Idol will be winning the Sunday night ratings next week. |

A lot easier for the girls doing a commercial network
They now only need 20 mins per episode, compared to half an hour with no commercials

Yes I have to agree, they 'sold out' on commercial television. Wow, who would've guessed this would have ever happened!?
What Channel 7 forgets is that their target audience is a little bit more aware, and that we quickly turn our backs on conspicuous selling that bleeds out of the ad breaks and into the show itself.
They shot the show at Coolum Hyatt. 'Wine Time' made me feel nauseous when it promoted Qantas (as does the banner add above this web page).
Remember that episode of 'The Chaser's War on Everything', when the Chaser's boys played out how the show would look under commercial television? We all laughed at the parody, but the thing is, it's now the reality of the new 'Kath and Kim'.
So yes, I believe this will end in disaster. It has already ended my love affair with the show.
And BTW, who is their camera crew? Home and Away's guys on their day off? |

| Thanks for the reply, I am glad their are some true Kath & Kim viewers out there. I hope the series survives though they need to give the writers independence (and trust that they know what they are doing). Can channel 7 do this better than the ABC? |

| Yes you are right no where as good as it use to be and all those commercials I think it will loose a lot of its addicted viewers. |

| Just watched the first 5 minutes of the new "Kath & Kim". Quite disappointed. Looks like it is being filmed on a set as opposeded to the inside of an actual house. Magda's character is now appears to be living in...(the fridge). The humour seems to laboured and I question whether this is another commercial televison takeover that ends in disaster because the original writers lose their control over their baby/product. |
