| We haven't been so unlucky in the UK to have been shown this garbage, but I did see some of it on u-tube last year when I heard about it being made. I only saw the first few seconds of Kim dumping her bags in the hall having left Brett and I thought 'what tripe' (putting it mildy). They just don't get the 'umour', I thought. Clearly they really don't, cos y9u all say they haven't included a Sharon in their version! How stupid! What about all the arguing she and Kim do? all the errands Kim sends her on? etc etc etc...Americans really are stupid sometimes, I reckon. the aussie original is totally my favourite comedy show of all time - wondering why Turner & Riley sold it to them in the first place. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| So Kath and Kim has been butchered. yes, K & K is a classic. But look look what aussies have done to the Yanks' originals such as Friends, CSI, Letterman, Oprah, Simpsons, Southpark, House, 90210, Desperate Housewives, CSI, My Name is Earl, Frasier, MadTV, Saturday Night Live, The Man Show etc. etc. Oh wait, those are STILL American originals. How can you peeps criticize one Yanked-over aussie hit when over half of the aussie schedule is filled with yank rubbish. Except Southpark...pure genius. As Cheryl said, "why is it the yanks think their comedy is better than ours they have just brutally murdered kath and kim please don't align australian comedy with american comedy as australian stuff way surpasses the yanks." | Oz-richie, I am not sure where you get your information from but it has been widely broadcasted that the US have recently contracted another series of the US Kath & Kim. | Well at least it will be on during the summer non-ratings period - oh the pain of having to wait that long. Yes, I did not mind it as it often takes a few episodes for shows to find their legs. You would have to be an idiot to think the original Kath And Kim TV series was created from the first episide as I suspect many here think. Don't forget where the original Kath and Kim characters came from and were built up over time to be where they are. It takes time to create and refine a character to which you know. And for those who think Australians can do better versions of overseas comedy shows then you need to look no further than Are you being served downunder, Benny Hill downunder, Doctor downunder, or any of the British comedy shows from the 1970's that Channels 7, 9 or 10 decided to borrow. |

| Well when I heard it was american I thought the americans would use our actual kath and kim but then I found out they changed it completly and it was awful First of all Kim wasnt ugly and fat and her husband was nothing like brett and Kath spoke like an american where is the humour in that and Kell was pathetic Utter waist of time and money I didnt make it past the opening I watched the opening and Kimm was yelling at bret and I turned it off Seven if you bring back the original you will get 10 times more viewers then if you keep this rubbish on make the right decision please!!!! |
