| also this worry may be over nothing, there is still a decent chance that shows like heroes and lost will still be aired on channel 7. they will be much later at night and it may be many months before they come on, but they may still air on analog. tim worner 7 program director made a point of not ruling out the possibility of these still airing on 7. so people may not miss out on anything, personally i wouldn't risk it, but for those with no choice just keep the pressure on prime and try to make 7 realise you are missing out so they will fill some late night timeslots with these shows. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| it doesn't cost $800, i only brought this up because kylie indicated she was thinking about a pvr. and i have seen one twin HD tuner pvr with 500 gig of space for only $400 but it did not have the ability to burn to dvd and was not a very well known brand. the one i mentioned is the product i am thinking of buying, not the one i have, but i am waiting till the price goes down further. as i said if you just want to see 7TWO and GO you can get an SD set top box for $40 just about anywhere. that is the cost of one dvd set and will give you access to dozens of shows that you cannot view without digital. there is also abc2 already and abc3 in december for kids, sbs2 and ONE as well. there is currently no HD content that you cannot view on SD digital (the exception to this is southern cross 10 areas where ONE is only available in HD not SD), while personally i think it is better to get HD because of the possibility of future changes, if you are just looking to watch them now and are planning on upgrading fully later then a set top box will tide you over until you have the money. obviously it is not fair that the channel will not be broadcast to certain areas of australia, but that is not 7's fault it is prime or southern cross or whoever, perhaps they can run a catch up for all the primetime shows as the 7two daytime programming is pretty lame. the latest info is that darwin and tasmania will get it on december 1st, but it now seems that prime and regional 7 qld have an unknown start date. if people cannot recieve the signal due to where they live they always have had my greatest sympathy because i know i would have to be in that situation. but if the only thing blocking people is being able to pull together $40 then they would make a few small sacrifices if they were real fans of the shows they will be missing out on. |

| bindi, you seem to have all the answers don't you. But you do miss out on some facts. Its not that simple and as you said tassie has to wait, MORE PROOF that the tv station/s should still be showing the programs on analogue!! why should the tassie fans miss out?? Not everyone is going to be all set up like you, nor are parts of Australia going to be set up all all at once. And this is how it seems the way the stations are going about it as if ALL have digital already!!! when some people don't. As I mentioned not all places are going to be digial or not digital yet and some people simply cannot get digital for reasonable reasons. Nor afford to buy seasons of shows. $800 for the twin HD turner with a burner well you may be able to afford this but I & many others cannot and most likely you'll have to replace it in a few years times as you do with many electronic stuff! Why do you some people have to miss out on their favourite shows, and also ones that have been following for years have to miss out?? simnply beause they don't have digital. As far as I'm concerned the stations are doing themselves a disservice for which they will not get the ratings they used to have. If some shows were already losing ratings on analogue how much ratings lost are they going to have by putting the shows in digital??? Alot I believe and that puts the shows in danger of being cancelled. |

| if you do buy a twin HD tuner PVR this will reduce the number of set top boxes you need. once you get one of these recorders you will never want to go back to VCR so you can get rid of one of these at least. you will not need a STB for the tv it is connected to if you watch through the PVR, but if you are recording 2 things and want to watch a 3rd tv channel then you will need a STB for the tv. the prices for these things are going down gradually, in the di.ck smith catalog i was looking at today you can get a panasonic recorder with a 250gig hard drive, twin HD tuners and it can burn to dvd as well for $800 (this is the product I have my eye on but might go for the 500gig model). and standard definition STB's are available at pretty much every electronics place for $40 and some places less. this will do for a quick fix so you don't have to miss out on shows while you are waiting to save the funds for a pvr. although it now seems like there will be a delay for PRIME viewers which is very unfortunate. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I am so sick of all this digital cr*p too. I don't have it. I'm already pissed I had to buy Fringe, Smallville, Gossip Girl on DVD 'cos they're only on HD. Missed last 2 seasons of the Shield, missed 2 seasons of Torchwood, don't get the Vampire Diaries ( after being teased with half an ep on the real channel 9 that I got after my tape of Shrek 3), and numerous other shows I can't think of right at the moment. If you're going to get a set-top box then of course you need to get HD otherwise you'd still have to get another one later on. Also I've read that you need 1 for each TV (I have 2 ) and 1 for each VCR as well to tape. (Have 2 as well). I have to tape 95% of everything as I work 'til midnight weeknights and aren't home to watch anything live. As it is, I sometimes want to tape 3 shows when I've only got 2 VCRs at the same time. I'm going to have to buy at least 2 PVRs or DVRs that can record 2 shows at once each when I buy into HD which will be expensive, as well as 4 set-top boxes. I have no idea how any of this will set up or how to work it. I know I can't get a TIVO to auto -record stuff as it requires broadband and I'm on dialup. Which also means I cannot download TV either. I can't afford broadband. My dialup is free with my phone rental. It took me 7 hours to download a catch-up episode of Neighbours (22 mins worth) when my tape stuffed up 1 night. I don't intend to get any HD until I absolutely HAVE to as apart from the expense it's 2 bloody complicated! I agree wholeheartedly with the other 2 posters who don't have digital TV and are PISSED OFF about they're shows being on the new channels. I want new Heroes, 24 and Shark on normal channel 7. |

| why can you not get digital? some SD set top boxes (which is all you need to see this channel) are as cheap as $30. every area that gets channel 7 proper will have 7TWO from november 1st, it is my understanding that Prime is also supposed to be broadcasting 7TWO from this date. those in tasmania will have to wait until december 1st for southern cross to show 7TWO but most of australia will be able to access this channel once this happens. some of the only places that might still not get the broadcast would be the northern territory and regional WA, do you live in either of these or are you somewhere else that won't get it that I am not aware of? If it is just a matter of cost and not where you live, like I said it is not that expensive to get a set top box and you have to go digital eventually or you'll lose tv altogether, so why not make the switch now when there are shows you want to watch motivating you. the best incentive for people to switch digital is putting shows they want on digital only, if they don't start doing this till 2013 they will find that they cannot switch off then as there are still heaps of people without digital. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I am so with you, WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE DIGITAL and can't get digtal for some time? Do we just miss out despite being a faithful follower and a faithful devotee of Channel 7 and this is how they repay us?? Even Ugly Betty is going digital and I am not happy with that either, don't have dital.... Honestly, this ditigal thing is more of a pain than it being better! Can't afford the DVD's either! Channel 7 do some good and put the shows back on analogy TV until we have to change in 2013. Are we suppose to put up with shows that have long been on analogue with long held fans go digital ?? It peeves me so much not too mention being angry and very disappointed, especially when I and many others have so long waited for the shows return, to find out its continuing on digital!! I DON'T AND MANY OTHERS DON'T HAVE DIGITAL YET!! AND YET WE ARE FANS OF THE SHOWS TOO! Why do we have to miss out??? |

| heroes season 4 will be on australian tv screens Wednesday november 4th at 8:30pm on digital channel 72. to view this channel you will need either a digital television or digital set top box. channel 72 is only an SD station not HD but if you are buying a digital product you should still go for HD as the price difference is minimal and it will save you buying a HD one later down the track when there is HD exclusive stuff again. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| i agree channel 7 just sucks and i've like already seen and downloaded the heroes season 4 ep 1 and 2 it is so awesome best ep ever i think season 4 will be the comeback for heroes |

| it is a shame, it is the best show and i cant wait to watch this season (probably on the net, cuz we all know how channel 7 can ruin a good show and just screen things whenever they like) season 2 and 3 were the killers, thats when most viewers dropped off season 4 in my opinion was really good, and got it back on track, i just feel it was maybe a little too late its not the type of show you can just start watching again having not seen a few seasons, so i think it will be hard to get ratings back up |

| one of the main reasons fans lose interest is because after season 2 not being very good they had to wait another year to see the third season and then at the start peter lost his abilities which screwed up there reputation. its so lame and they next should of made it happen | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| like the other guys have said, Heroes will return in the US in September. If seven fasttrack it during the ratings period (befor december) then it will definately be in an 11 or 11:30pm timeslot. My best guess for a return date is in December over the non-ratings period in a 10:30pm timeslot for the first 6-7 eps. Then in February the remaining eps may be screened in an 11 or 11:30pm timeslot. Although, if seven get their new digital channel underway before the end of the year, they may decide to screen it on there in an earlier timeslot along with other late nighters such as LOST, Prison Break, Boston Legal, 30 Rock, Family Guy, American Dad and Las Vegas! |

| This sucks!!!! Whenever there is a good show it has the risks of getting cancelled because people loose interest.... Why cant some people stay boring and like something forever lol??? | Hey guys. Now, I have some bad news. (Don't take it to heart, but it probably may happen.) As you may or may not know, in the US, ratings and viewings for Heroes have decreased dramatically since Season 1. So, most people are saying that Season 4 may actually be the end of Heroes... Now, I don't want to alarm anyone, but if anyone has been doing their research (like myself) it is true, and I personally would HATE for them to end a fantastic show, but the truth is- well, NBC are the little 'priks' who also refuse to go and continue the show. In fact, they had a very 'difficult' time in whether or not they would actually renew Heroes for their fourth season. They did, but right at the very end. See, most other shows were renewed almost immediately, whereas Heroes... well, they took their time deciding. Viewership and ratings have dropped as well, especially during season 3 (I don't know why, personally it was alright) and it hasn't been on the same wavelength as it was on since Season 1. See, I don't know what the writers and producers are to do truthfully. It's not as if they can go and create another 'Save the cheerleader' scenario like season 1, but viewers think they should (or something along the lines of that) as they all now think its 'pointless' and most characters have 'no plot'. Season 4 may go back to those Season 1 'roots'. However... *************** SPOILERS ******************* There have been rumours that Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is not getting alot of screen time. Apparently he has filmed a 'few' scenes and that he is important in the finale, but that's about it. Secondly, Heroes will have it's first gay kiss- between Claire and her female roomate in college. ************ SPOILERS END ******************* This is all very interesting, but some fans think that there's too many problems in this Season... Personally, I wanna see at least three more volumes. Buut... the way things are going now... we may not e ... |

Cant wait for it to start back again with the new stuff... They always have a good ending to the chapter that leaves you on the edge of your seat screaming NNNNNOOOOO YOU CANT END THERE lol..... It totally sucks. |
