it was confirmed a few hours ago that 7 have picked up all the shows they were offered. more shockingly so did 9, a whole 14 shows but thats another story.
heroes is a mainstream show and follows the same pattern as all other US shows ie. early Sept- late Nov, then Feb-May so no relief there.
the most likely situation is that 7 will wait for all the new shows to premier in the US in Sept and the ones that are successful in the US will get primetime slots next Feb and the ones that don't will get *** slots in the summer. it is very rare for a new show to be close to fasttracked.
i can tell you now that Trauma, the Pacific, and Cougartown are all tipped to be Huge and they are all going to 7. other big hopes are human target, V remake (going to 9), the NCIS spin off, glee, and modern family (going to ten) |

just keep in mind that channel 7 may not necessarily get every single show. They may test it out, and if ratings are c.rap, they'll cancel it anyways. Plus, they might be able to rearrange some of the timeslots as well for the nwer shows. Put the newer ones at the earliest time, while putting all the other shows later. If the newer shows are good, then keep them. But if they're not, then take em off and replace the timeslots with the older shows.
And to let you know, not every show will be on for all of the year. Like Heroes, they do have seasons, hiatuses and stuff like that. So, they might be able to get in Heroes afterall. I would also assume that those big name tv shows and stuff you mentioned would be airing sometime next year, and thats actually when Heroes finishes. (roughly around February)
Besides, there's like, four, five months until the next season of heroes starts, and that there is plenty of time to test out the new shows if they manage to get any. |

Wow, that's a lot of new shiit that I am never gonna watch..
Where did you find out all that?
Well, I could totally see them playing the new season of Heroes after the 2 months the finale in America finishes.
I reckon that would give enough time to play some new shows, cancel the unpopular ones, and show a whole series, finishing in time to play Heroes.
The only ones I could see being popular would be "The Pacific" and "Cougartown" which I bet people will love, then channel 7 cancels anyway.
Thanks for giving that information! |

i don't think advertising is the leading problem. it had the standard promotion for a 10:30 show that boston legal, eli stone, lipstick jungle, scrubs, lois thereax ect all had and all those shows rate well.
and heroes started out this season rating quite well so a lot of people knew it was on they just didn't return.
i don't mean to break u guys hearts but there is little chance that heroes will ever go any earlier. the writers strike is over and this season will be the first US fall season that is not affected by it. there are heaps big expensive new shows coming to tv lots of the old shows will be flushed out to later slots. 7 has scored a lot of the big new ones that will take priority. they will have to squeese in: trauma (big expensive action show), happy town (bit like twin peaks), cougartown (with courtney cox), parenthood (from ron howard), the pacific (stephen spielberg war series with $250,000,000 budget filmed in australia), day one (apocalyptic sci-fi), the philanthropist, mercy, and flash forward as well as a new aussie drama. so i can't see where heroe will fit in at all. |

| No not all did I ever think you were having a go at me. But respectively with the advertising. Another show I like to watch which has just ended is Life on Mars (US version) is on at 10:30 and Ten pushes it well. Channel seven with Heroes which is an even bigger show in my opinion isnt even given a mention. This is why ratings go down. They need former sales people in their scheduling. If people arent awear of a product or show in this case they arent going to partake of said product. It's just basic common sense. |

Please don't think I was having a go at you, lol.
I really couldn't agree more with the big issue of advertising. I think that is just ridiculous. |

I'm with you. The time heroes is on is ridiculous. I have 3 children and I cant afford to stay up until midnight to watch to the end of the show. Have you seen what *** channel 7 have on in the time slots before heroes. Come on!!!!
I have to watch the show on the channel 7 website the next day. But I am in a bit of a panic at the moment because the new episode is not up yet. PLEASE HURRY UP AND PUT THE EPISODE ON!!! |

| Thanks for your feed back. I guess my last post hot from my loosing it big time. Oh well all I can do is laugh at myself for being such a die hard fan. Okay though, good idea, I will watch it on the net instead. Not sure my clapped out old computer can handle it, lol. I am much calmer now thank you. Nevertheless, if you are pissed off with 7, why not all of us ring up and let them know how we feel. My biggest issue is not the time but there was no advertising it was even coming on. |

Way to ring up! I agree with all fans banding together to do something. But yeah, I see how a lot of people are upset with the time, but as much as I hate to say it, please get over it. It would be great if it was on early, but there are alternatives that others have stated, such as watching it on the yahoo site ( which should be your number one option, instead of viewing opposing sites that have all episodes, as they (yahoo) would get the numbers and see how many people are watching it and at least consider their options), taping it (really, not that hard..).
Ps: Loved this episode, note Angela with the socks ;) ;) |

I am so angry at channel 7's stupidity that I rang and went on a bit too long, but I cant understand why they cant see that what utter genius Heroes is. To me it is more than a TV show, it is nothing shot of brilliant. I say fans, lets unit our outrage and bend together to jump start 7's understanding of views choices thereby improving 7's ratings and help understand what a great show Heroes is. It is brilliant! And we loved it. I believe the only answer is to re-view season 4 of heores at a better time slot, but the greatest sin was not even advertising it.
Please fellow fans of this icon of TV entertainment help 7 understand how important this quality show is.
Regards,
Brad Higgens
P.S. If you agree find me on face book and let me know. |

| The reason this show is on so late now is because that the main demographic that -does- watch this sort of show are computer literate nerds who have the internet/decent download abilities and aren't willing to wait three months for the tv networks to catch up to the american screenings. Like seriously. Heroes finished almost a month ago now in America and we're still less than halfway through the season on the episodes airing on tv? Everyone I know who watches this show saw the final episode within a week of it airing in america because they downloaded it. It's free, it's easy and it's what the main audience of this kind of show does now adays. ESPECIALLY when the tv is showing episodes MONTHS after America's aired it. If they'd only put on the episodes say a day or two after America then it'd still be highly rated (or at least decent) and be at a reasonable timeslot. But as it's months behind and all the main viewers have seen it already through other means there's hardly anyone watching it on tv and thusly bad ratings which keeps it late. |

Yeah okay that fair.
But the fact is its not only for the issue of it being late, its also for the fact of fake advertisement eg. Channel 7 TV guide says that Heroes is on at 10.30
when basically it not.
At least Channel 7 should try and get something right.
Yeah and it is a shame that it went from 8.30 to 10.30 and i don't see how Scrubs is any better. |

Why berate anyone who expects some degree of loyalty from networks?
Not everyone has a PVR, actually stuff all people have PVR's. Very few have a PC with TV that they know what to do.
As for any other network, would these be the ones that gave Gretel Killeen the Logies or gave us Big Brother or 20 to 1 etc etc? Channel Seven's generosity? They are the ones that give us Home and Away! That's not gernosity that's straight out torture. What profit sacrifice? Nobody wastes time on late night advertising except porn mobile downloads, saucepans and acnes creams. |

why are people still complaining about airtimes in the 21st century. how hard is it to push the set record button.
just be glad that 7 is generous enough to sacrifice profits in airing such an unwatched show in the first place. any other network and this show would never have seen the light of day in the first place. |

| just about every show i have ever watched started out in an early timeslot like 8:30pm and over the years gradually sliped further and further into the night. that is just the way things go, audiences loose interest and don't have the staying power to last out all the years. and the networks find shiny new shows that they focus on while they ignore the ones from a couple of years ago. with everyone buying dvd recorders and PVR's surely there are some very cheap VCR's for sale out there, try second hand stores and newspaper for sale ads, i'm sure you'll find something. |
