| Bailey and Callie are residents so they get to do solo surgeries and assist the attendings (Derek, Sloan, The Chief) with major surgeries. While interns are just out of medical school and are there to learn so they don't get solo surgeries straight away.The order goes: Interns Residents Attendings |

| given that the first round of interns did the test in their third year, i would imagine that they would be be due to take it in season 6. what i find interesting is how long it took to give merideth, christina, etc solo surgeries, when you compare them to baily & callie? |
