| More is released in the finale.. SPOILER!!!!!!!!!! something is wrong with ava/rebecca and when izzie tries to help alex tells her that he can do it himself coz he's done it before. He reveals that his mum went through bad stages and he looked after her and he was just a boy so he can look after ava/rebecca better coz hes a man now |

| Actually most of these are wrong. Alex's father was a muscian and a drug addict he use to beat Alex's mum, she never left his dad. When Alex was a teenager he took up wrestling so be could protect his mum which he did by beating his father up who then left his family and I think Alex's mum blamed him for that. Alex's dad died before they could make up. These are NOT SPOILERS as this has all been revealed in the past. In a season 1 episode a man with chronic back pain came into the hospital looking for drugs as his pain was real they had to treat him despite the fact he was also addicted to pain killers. Derek told Alex to administer the drugs but he didn't the patient got violent and fell over and hit his head. Derek, Alex and Izzie had to operate on him and during the operation Alex told them his dad was a drug addict that is why he did not want to give pain killers to the patient. In another episode a family was in a car accident and the dad's liver was damaged the son was a match and the doctors were trying to convince the son to donate part of his liver or his dad would die (as the liver is the only organ that grows back once they remove part of it it will grow back to full size within a few months). Alex was the sons doctor and found out the dad was a drunk who beat the mum up. Alex told the boy about his dad beating his mum up and how he beat his dad when he got older. maybe more will be revealed in the season final. |

| the season finale gives us more of an insight into alexs past. not alot...it just tells us about something he had to do as a child, and how he has to do it again now but he'll do it better coz hes a man nstead of a child....its actually quite heartbreaking in that ep....justin chambers is brilliant in the finale...you will get to se a side of him we havent seen before... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| he was raised by a drunk and he learnt to look after himself at a young age. Thats all we know so far. But shonda has said that we will learn a little but more about him in this seasons finale. Alex is alot like meredith..both had bad upbringings with parents who didnt care for them. |
