| elle.vander I have to disagree and agree with you. No its not a serious dance competition because if it was the best dancer would generally win. However, the competitors in the majority of cases do work hard to learn to dance, and in a couple of cases we have had people who with a few more lessons could have held their own on a real competition floor. My recollection is that the judges do actually mark on the competitors ability to dance, their footwork, posture and musicality. It is the viewing audience who most often vote on celebrity, colour of their eyes, personality etc etc. Watching good quality dancing is entertaining and can be really fun and enjoyable - that's why I watch and sparkle - but the last couple of seasons of DWTS lost focus - this last season I do beleive the producers tried to pull it back. The 'demontsrations' by the pros helped and I hope these continue this year. |

| the order has never been based on dancability. i mean david graham, red symons and darren hinch all made it quite far and never put a foot right. it's not a serious dance competition like the olympics or even SYTYCD, it's just entertainment, and that's all it tries to be. it is based on celebrity status, attitude and personality. which is why the predictions here are just as good as anything after the 1st episode. @ magicmazza_2000: ur thinking of peter everEtt. |

| I agree with you Samba83e - a few names are familiar but not exactly stars. Show should be renamed "Dancer here if you want to become a star" At this stage I could only pick an order based on popularity - nothing to do with dance ability, but then again, many people vote for their favourites and ignore ability to dance. |
