Hi everyone, Trekk, I haven't heard of Mountain Dew.
Jaybear, do hope you don't have any fires.
We had rain again yesterday and it is lovely and cool this morning, but as crikey said, it will up again.
Lovely |

| Good Morning, it's me with a headache. Please excuse rambling last night. I woke up this morning thinking what the hell did I write on here last night! Funny how spelling goes out the window with a few drinks!! Had a lovely time, a real family style 21st b'day. We have another beautiful day here, would love to share it with you all ... sending you all good wishes, thinking of Coach especially. xx |

Morning everyone!
Glad you had a nice time Lisa, hope you're catching up on sleep Crikey...I think it's slightly cooler here today although it's only early yet, the sky looks dangerously like there are fires around, really hazy and an awful colour. I had a terrible sleep even with the air-con going all night.
Hope you all have a great Sunday. |

I saw that Crikey, it was quite amazing and wouldn't it be nice if we humans could learn something from our animals, pets and otherwise.
Well it's almost 11.30pm here and still 30 degrees...I'm totally over it!
Goodnight all! |

| did anybody see on tv not so long ago - not even sure where it was - a zoo somewhere overseas - but a gorilla from a group had died - when the zookeepers came to take his body away - all the remainging apes (bt 15) gathered close to the fence - and put their arms around each other - staring at their friends body - and some had tears in their eyes - how amazing and beautiful are animals hey - yes there have some amazing genuine untapped responses - they ask nothing in return from an owner - i love and adore my cats - and i can understand anybody feeling the same way about their animals |

tash -- haha yes! You must have looked like a hippie because they really only bother people that look like they need some greenary. My brother visited earlier this year and was soooooo annoyed that he didn't get approached....lol (he's a non-smoker....both of us are).
I agree that pets know all about what's happening to their companions (and their owners). A few years back, my oldest cat (Turbo) had a massive heart attack on the sofa at the other end of the house. Rebel came running to me and was meowing her little heart out, walking in circles and then running up the hall....she would come back to see if I was following. She led me to Turbo who was in a bad way but still conscious...the look in her eyes was haunting. I bundled her into the car and to my vet...her eyes didn't leave me until she slipped away with the "green dream".
When I got home, Rebel, Boyboy, trekker, quessy and Flash wouldn't leave my side. They knew what had happened. Rebel took over the spot in the sun on the old sofa that had once been Quessy's. |

| I agree Coach as we have a few pets buried here and our two cats often sit on the grave sites. More to it all than meets the eye. |

| crikey - that doesn't sound stupid at all. I rode in the back of the truck with Guiness on the way to my friends block. This block was actually the last place he made a huge effort to get to a couple of weeks ago and I found myself talking to him and saying "here it is mate, you can play here all you like now". I buried him with a T-shirt of mine (unwashed), a couple of meaty bones, an apple (he loved them) and a smelly fish head. I will be taking my other dally for walks down there until I leave this town and I imagine I will talk to him every time I go there. I believe his spirit is around somewhere and my hope is that he's happy where he is. He loved it there so I think he will be. |

Hi guys and gals
I just buried my boy in a friends block of land today. He recently buried his great dane Jock who had died of bone cancer so my boy is resting next to him. I used to walk him on this block and it's one of his favourite places in the world to go to because Jock used to kill things and leave them to ripen and then my boy would come along and pinch them and have a ball chewing on some horrific smelly dead thing.
Anyway, we buried my guy next to Jock in a beautiful spot surrounded by hills and trees and a babbling brook running past very close to where they rest. The owner is going to plant a chestnut tree for them over their graves. Then he and a friend and I drank an awful lot of beer and deadly home distilled vodka and had a fantastic wake for the beautiful bloke. Six hours later and I've just got back home and I am very very pished :)
Couldn't have asked for a better spot for him to be buried or a nicer wake.
Cheers
Jacki |
