| I should have said I read he had the pancreatic cancer. I didn't associate this with the smoking. But I did read He was a very heavy smoker. & I think it said he still smokes heavily. |

| In Matt's defence, he was only reacating to the News announcements in the morning which said he had 5 weeks to live. It wasn't until later in the day when his Dr was interviewed that it was cleared up. I was on my way home before I heard he wasn't as critical as we were led to believe. |

| I agree with sandra, with the title of the thread and matt's first message (I didn't check the link straight away) it seemed to me too that Patrick was definitely dying. I'm sure Matt didn't mean it but I was totally shocked till I got to the last two messages and saw a glimmer of hope. But it definitely isn't looking good. SO very sad. |

| So sad about Patrick but hopefully he will respond to treatment and have a lot of quality time left, send prayers and healing thoughts to him, I think saying he only has a short time left certainly is premature. Wonderful actor and person. |

| Dobell.......None of us on this thread has referred to Patrick in the past tense, that would be premature. Pancreatic cancer is an horrific illness to do battle with, and of course we hope he responds to the treatment. We are all fans of Patrick and our thoughts are with him and Lisa. I am not quite sure where we were blunt, perhaps you were reading the other thread up top??????? Another media sensationalism hype reporting the facts. As usual never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Cheers:)) |

| i think i know what you mean, but to say that patrick is dying is a bit premerture and blunt( to say the least) im sure theres millions the world over who are upset to hear the news today, but think of his family at a time like this, its not he WAS an inspiration to you and not a horrible way to go, he still is an inspiration to most of us and has not yet left us, hopefully he will continue to respond well to treatment and be with us for a long time. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Yes, I too feel for Lisa......such a shame they never had children. I'm pretty sure Patrick was having some trouble with alcohol, bit sad to hear........I'm not judging him either, I've been there, know what it's like.....one hell of a battle:( |

| No bec, I didn't see Guys & Dolls as I wasn't aware it was playing until I got over there and saw the billboard at the subway station. Hubby had already bought tickets for Phantom of the Opera instead (trying to add some culture to my life I thinks) :-) Anyway, I absolutely loved Phantom and we were in the front row too ..... had goosepimples all night. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Cutey, did you actually get to see Patrick in the musical......that would have been lovely. I won't be able to watch Ghost for sometime, talk about being emotionally drained......I literally ache from crying.......pathetic I know, but at least I have feelings. |

| I was stunned when I heard this morning that Patrick had 5 wks to live. He will be another loss to audiences around the world. We love the movie too, Matt! So much so we have a copy of the movie plus the soundtrack on tape. |

| So sad is right Matt........I have adored Patrick from the first moment I saw him. Watching him used to send shivers up this silly old girls spine. I really am genuinely upset.......so young, and such an horrific cancer to battle with. He's an example isn't he Matt, of what a true dancer should be.......classically trained, but able to dance in any genre......and with such beauty. | Hi Matt, I do watch SYTYCD but haven't had much time to post. It's the same with all these reality shows and there are disappointments in who gets eliminated when the public are concerned. I heard last night that when it gets down to the final 10, the judges will not be having a say on who goes, it will be only the public so that's very disappointing to hear. They seem so desperate to drum up votes and I think ousting Hilton at the beginning was a ploy to shock people. Anyway, it doesn't work with me as I don't vote for anyone on this show. A shame to see Steph go and she was certainly given the raw end of the deal with the dances she was made to do. They didn't even showcase her properly with that stupid jive. | I was in the UK a couple of years back and at the time, he was performing in the musical, Guys & Dolls.
