Try looking on the dancesport web pages I am sure they will have information about local competitions and demonstrations. Not sure who the professionals are in Qsld but the amateurs certainly hold their own in the national comps. You will at least get to see lots of sparkles and some excellent dancing. Doesn't usually cost much either |

Matt, unfortunately Leanne's quick step was not featured, more's the pity.
Hoping we will have the opportunity to see more of her work soon.
Quick question, is anyone aware if Brisbane gets a chance to see any of the Professional dancers in action....If so where??? |

Most of the dances featured last night Matt were Jason Gilkinson's....each of the top 20 returned and performed routines from the show.
They are going on tour....starting in Brisbane I think they said.
One of the best things last night was Caleb's guest spot...the young guy who couldn't get in cause he was 15.....lucky for Jack and the rest....)...just absolutely brilliant!....and Damien sounded ok too. |

I haven't watched last night's show yet, but which ballroom choreography did they feature? Hopefully one from each of the choreographers, who I still think were the three best of the show - heavily biased sure, but still, I enjoyed almost all the ballroom choreography much more than the best of the rest.
Unless there was Jason's Rumba choreography, Leeanne's Quickstep, and Paul's Samba, the finale would be a bit disappointing to me. Those three were magical. |

Morning Bec...missed some things...didn't see the start of the show when the judges danced.
Don't you have more than 1 child Bec?.....that way you get more than 1 CD...but yes...that other unknown opera singer definately needs more CD sales....lol
Great picture of the 'unknown' one in latest magazine article.....Aust country Style I think it is called...worth it just for the picture....as Marina would say......'were there words?'.....ROFLOL |

Hi! Xsally, I hadn't really noticed that Jason's chori was a little repetitious, will have to go back and take another look......sorry I missed out on mentioning Leanne, I was still a little taken with the moment last night. Of course Leanne's chori was fabulous. I think I mentioned at the time, Jason's faux pas, stating he had never heard of Leanne, not one of his smarter moments. I have been a fan of Leanne's ever since she transformed Dicko. LOL
Gwenda....I have dropped hints for another CD, it's by some singer, relatively unknown I believe, who just happens to sing Opera........No, don't prompt me, his name will come to me, it's on the tip of my tongue. (shrugs shoulders, try again later).
Courtney and the lad with the metal in his face (isn't that terrible have forgotten his name also, my apologies to him) did dance last night.
The standout routine for me for the series was Rhys and
Jemma's very first together, as Bonnie said it was breathtaking.
Strewth, what am I going to do now without my weekly dose of SYTYCD....Roll on DWTS. LOL :))
Will have to visit Youtube more often now. :)) |

Bec.....Damien has a new album out...cover versions...looks good.....I've already ordered it for mother's day!....used very subtle hints.....lol
Wasn't Caleb brilliant?....hope he is on the next show...already a winner!!!!!
Was hoping to see Leeannes routine performed again. did I miss Jack and Demi?.....and there was one other couple missing......Courtney and the guy with face piercings???
Loved seeing Hilton dance again.....he so should not have gone home when he did.....judges made wrong choice that night.
And Seremsah!.....Anthony!... ...Vanessa and Henry!.....Gemma and Rhys's waltz!.....fantastic show indeed! |

| Honestly, I'm not finding Jason's chori to be all that great. I mean, yea, I know you all think he's brilliant and everything, but I'm finding that pretty much every routine he's done has used the same elements. At least 5 or 6 of them (so, almost every routine he's choreographed) have started with no music. Yea, it was inventive and new the first time, but then it got a little boring. And he tends to use chairs a lot too. I know he likes to do that, and that's great and all, but I want to see something new and his routines are a little too similar to make me think he's a great choreographer. Now, that Leeanne Bampton quickstep, THAT was great choreography. |

Wow! what a fantastic show, hard to believe we have to wait another 12 months for more of same.
Congratulations to Jack a deserved winner, also to Rhys next time kiddo, loved you from the start.
Kate & Demi it's been a pleasure to watch you both each week, thank you.
The one thing that blew my mind away was Caleb, I have never seen anything like him before, only just turned 16, it was so beautiful to watch. To top it off have Damien Leith sing at the same time, 'Magic'
Loved it, loved it loved it, to quote Jason.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention Jason Gilkison and his brilliant choreography, he is a genius.
Ch10 thank you for putting something decent on for a change:))) |

I heard on the rumour mill that the 3 judges are doing a routine together with the top 4.
I hope Rhyss wins as Jack's dancing seems to all look the same to me. |

Looking forward to tonight's final, it should be spectacular......All of the top 20 are apparently going to be on the show, you just might get your wish Tina, with a Ballroom number, let's hope so.
After tonight the starvation sets in again, no quality entertainment TV viewing for some time. DWTS will have to lift it's game, people want more now and are savvy in what they want. :))
Good Luck tonight to the finalists, bring it on. :)) |

Hi! Matt, definitely go along with you on the Ballroom choreograhers, theirs seemed to tell more of a story....I notice you haven't committed yourself with whom you think will be the eventual winner? :))
Gwenda, will you be making the Meatloaf to the music of 'Unchained Melody'? Will you have a ghost of a chance, miracles have been known to happen. LOL
As for the next DWTS, we will have to wait and see, let's hope we have some substance to support.:) |

I honestly think the best choreographers of the show were the three ballroom choreographers - Jason, Leeanne and Paul (well, other than the cha cha, the rest of them were great).
Nacho Pop was pretty good too, as was the occasional contempary choreographer, but for the most part, the choreography the ballroom people were coming up with just shows how good Australia is at that genre. |

Missed a good show Tina....have you seen any of the 20/20 matches? Hussey was on fire the other night....and Hopes......Matty's fielding was a bit off....didn't see brett bowling! |

Shame you missed it Tina, it's well worth a look at. God the talent we have in this Country is amazing, we so rarely get to see it.
I still have trouble getting into some of the DWTS USA yoututbe.....can you tell me who is left dancing in the series, thanks.:) |

Now I've done it, Gwenda, will you ever be able to look at dancer without seeing Hobbo....perhaps it would be Gwenda, rose in mouth, El Hobbo cute beaded bolero and tight pants, doing the Flamenco to 'Carmen' (ewwww you're awful bec) ROFLOL
Seriously though...Jason can be a bit iffy, but at no stage throughout the competition did be belittle any of the competitors, he called it as he saw it, without ripping their heart out. His criticism was always accepted with grace, very rare indeed. IMO..:))) |

Well ladies you are doing soooo well with your critiques
I am desparetly hoping teenage friend taped the show as I couldn't watch - family religious festival dinner got in the way and it would not have been appreciated if i had wanted to watch TV, hrmm
If the tape didn't work hopefully it will be on U Tube
But overall those comments do sound like it was a good show |

Just enjoy the dance...the next DWTS will be interesting....who will I support?.....will it be the same one as Tina?.....lol
Agree on comments re judges...although Jason is a bit iffy at times.....and choreographers.....and the competitors. |

Hi! Gwenda great critique, Tina's right, you have become a bit of a dance nutter,LOL....can't go wrong there girl......are you by any chance transposing Hobbo onto the screen when the dancing starts, especially the raunchy numbers. (he he he)
Have to agree on what you have said, except!!!!! I loved the 'Keystone Cops' number, I felt it showed each girl within their dance genre, whilst at the same time in unison with the storyline, very clever choreography, and I am surprised Jason didn't see it that way.
Jack...what can you say, just magic, Of course being a Brissie boy makes it even better for me, good to see the homegrown make it in the 'Big Smoke'.
Kate I love to watch, particularly with Jack, they are pretty much flawless when they dance together, such a joy:)
Rhys, love him to death, no matter what you throw at him he comes up trumps. However I do feel Jack does have that edge over him, as was quite evident in theit number together.
Demi....our girl with the big heart and raw talent, imagine what she could do if she had been trained in dance technique from an early age, the mind boggles.....loved her cha cha and the contemporary with Rhys was just wonderful.
Have to agree, Head, vote Jack, Heart, vote Demi.
In saying that, congratulations to all the dancers in the competition, you have done yourselves proud.......your Country should be proud of you too, well done!!!
Judges...thank you so much, it is because of you all, that I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this competition. It is rare you have a panel of judges where they leave their egos at home and concentrate on giving constructive criticism to all the competitors, 'All Hail To You'
Choreographers, thank you for some interesting choro. Can't say I liked all of them, some were too way out there for me....Jason Gilkison with the help of Leanne Bampton at times, was the standout for me.
Sooooo, Good Luck for next week, Jack, Kate, Rhys & Demi, and thanks for the memories:)) ... |

So...we have to choose from the final four....bit different to the USA show.....and a week to vote.
My thoughts on last night's show....best dancer - Jack....loved the cha cha with Demi....his contempory with Kate.....his routine with Rhys....and the group dance. To me Jack was the standout performer in each routine. Was interesting to see him and Rhys together....quite a difference....Jack seems way more soft and fluent....so together....perhaps effortless is the word I am looking for...to me he should win.
Rhys....hated the toy soldier routine....loved his dance with Demi.....loved what he danced with Jack and he performed well in group dance. Definately a talent...but second best I think.....dancing with Jack last night was not to his advantage. Rhys has grown on me throughout this competition.
Kate has the training behind her over Demi.....she seems sharper in her movements....but as I have mentioned....couldn't stand that toy soldier routine....even if it was difficult.....loved her contempory.....why did the girls have to dance that style with their dance.....didn't like it much.....wanted to see 'girly' routine...soft, mesmerising, romantic...and then the group where the girls were not up to the boys.
Demi...I really like Demi...out of all the dancers there is no doubt she is full of heart and spunk...she has so totally emerged from the big boy clothes wearing 'B' girl.....beautiful routine with Jack and Rhys....didn't like the girl dance much and then the group where Demi just seems to be dancing in a different speed to the others...perhaps what Jason says...not dancing on the beat.
If I were to vote for the overall package....Jack wins hands down......if I were to vote with my heart and for who has come the furtherest.....Demi. |

It was sad to see Vanessa go, and yes it would have been lovely to see her dance her genre....let's hope she continues with her pursuit and makes it big time....forever the lady Vanessa:))))
I was touched by Graeme's words last night, a credit to his parents.....Have to say, the look of disappointment in his eyes was a little hard for me to bear....but he's young, and he has such a bright future ahead of him, the world is his oyster.
Next week should be something out of the box...with 3 of the dancers so close....as Jason said the other night, he couldn't see the weakness in them, very hard to judge.
I have no idea how the finals work, re voting, can somebody fill me in, thanks:)))) |
