| It's also onsidered a great mark of respect when someone else sings/records your song, so Johnny Reid is most probably feeling quite please and flattered that Adam Brand chose his song. As perko says, when people record a song that is new for them, and not necessarily written by them it is called "their new song". eg when The Beatles released a new hit song, it was called the beatles new hit, not "Lennon and Mccartneys new hit". Also, I think permission to record is required otherwise it's a breach of copyright and disputes over royalties. |

| also because someone is singing a song it doesn't mean he recorded it... Im sure every artist thats sings someone else song doesn't record it to... there is nothing on that video to say Adam recorded it..in fact I think it was the first time he sang it..he seem to be reading the words from the floor if you look at it properly...like lots of artists do.. |

| If Adam has just recorded a song of course it would be referred to as his new song (vs an old song). It isn't unusual for songs to be covered by different artists in different countries it happens all the time and always has. There are numerous songs that have reached No.1 in one country by one artist and have also reached no. 1 in other country by another Of course he would have permission to record it, no artist can record anything without the permission of the writer/publisher - well not unless they wanted to be sued for copyright etc. |

| Someone recently posted a video on facebook of Adam Brand singing a song called "Dance With Me". It was posted under the title of 'Adam Brand's New Song'. I would like to inform all Adam Brand fans that this song IS NOT Adam's. "Dance With Me" was writen, recorded and released EARLIER THIS YEAR by an amazing canadian country music artist by the name of Johnny Reid. It is the current NO.1 country song in Canada. Anyone who watches the country music channel (FOXTEL/AUSTAR) would know this - having seen the canadian country music awards. Out of respect for Johnny Reid, please stop praising Adam for "his new song" when he has obviously covered it (which i'm not even sure he has permission to do so). I have to say that i'm very dissapointed in Adam and his Team for not making note of this on his facebook. |
