Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
My young days I went to dances, clubs, coffee lounges (very plush). The dances weren't licensed so we'd all meet down the rd at the railway line and the guys all had booze in their car boots. The joint was really jumping after interval! Oh great days and without all the dangers of today.

I did during student days (daze) - now I'm an old hippie still wearing tie-dye and burning incense 24/7.

ah yes tash - the days of a little home grown greenary! Long gone for me now but sure had some fun back in those days. I remember putting red christmas tree decorations on my home growns and telling the elderly neighbour they were tomato plants.

Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
I started adding the vegies when my kids were very young, they loved them and didn't know they were eating healthy food haha!
I've just continued making them like that because they really do taste yummy and sometimes I make the same mixture as a meatloaf.

It is very quick and healthy, I like the idea of the added vegies with your rissoles.

That sounds nice too magic!

I'm certain the gladbake will work for the rissoles...let me know either of you. I'll try it myself next time too.

Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
Jaybear, sounds really nice, I will try the paper see how that goes.
I often do chicken strips in my wok, coated in flour and chili powder, then add snow peas, onions, peppers, mushrooms and angel noodles plus oyster sauce, nice and simple.

Oh yeah, definitely gotta have mash and gravy with them! Though sometimes I'll have plain boiled noodles for a change.

Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
Tash, I use very little oil anyway but I'm sure you could do that..2 other options come to mind...use gladbake paper on the pan or cook in the oven.
I haven't personally tried the gladbake trick but it's supposed to work really well..in fact I think on the 'real' gladbake pack, thaat's one of the tips.

Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
Hi all, hope everyone ok inc the dear Dally and Coach! Jay, re the rissole recipe, I don't fry much food as it doesn't agree with me, so could i do rissoles in pan if I just sprayed it with oil spray? I have a good pan, so guess they wouldn't stick?

Re:RECIPE HEAVEN Reply to this message
Last night at work I had pork strips to do something with but didn't feel like stir-fry so cooked the strips in seasoned flour and made roll-ups from them with lots of salad vegs.
The pork turned out so yummy that I'll share what I put in the seasoned flour to coat the pork.

salt and pepper
coriander powder
basil
thyme
chili powder

I just added as much of each as I thought 'felt' okay to plain flour then tossed the strips in it..then lightly pan-fried the meat..it was delish!
You could use any meat strips.

egg/s to bind dep. on amount of mixture

mix all together, form into pattie shapes and gently fry in not too much oil.

LOL TREK! yrs ago my son gave a b/day party for me, but only invited HIS friends. I was really insulted as he made me a very green cake! He's a chef and I expected something genuinely nice. I left early with no cake eaten!
