I hate to be a spoil sport but they have been talking about it for at least 25 years, one of the reasons they changed the name to Dancesport.

If it had a chance it would have been in the next Olympics in London as the UK is the home of ballroom and it didn't even get a look-in (even with some of the "interesting" other sports nominated). Unlikely to be in Rio. Unless you had a couple of enthusiast on the Olympic Committee to push it, I wouldn't be holding my breathe waiting for it. Though there are plenty of folk who would queue for hours for tickets, the general sporting community itself still don't recognise it, many don't accept rythmic gymnastics not to mention syncronised swimming which some athletes cast in the same mold And before anyone starts complaining be honest, how many sports involve expensive dresses/hair/stylists/mak eup etc. Let's face it Golf was higher on the list of prospective sports. Doesn't mean I agree, just realistic.

We will have to wait till the Games after Rio to have a hope so we are looking at 2020 depending on the host nation who always push for their own favourite sports to be included, I cann't see Rio wanting it to be included. Maybe we can hope a country like Japan who are great lovers of dance win the bid for 2020.

Not likely to make a winter olympics, although a possibility could be Commonwealth Games or Masters Games.

I read somewhere that dancesport is going to be part of the Olympics. So maybe we will see some of the professionals in action.

APOLOGY TO TINA
I have an apology to make. Yesterday late at night Cpen and I were madly swapping music opinions and watching clips, jumping from youtube to here at a breakneck pace. Tina arrived and made a great music suggestion. I didn't notice who posted it or her subsequent distress until re reading it today.
I don't like to behave rudely Tina (I'm blaming the chardonnay),when all you were trying to do was make a pleasant contribution, please accept my sincere apology. If it wasn't for Cpen pointing it out today, my unintentional rudeness would've gone unnoticed by me

They must've been the ones I missed Toddy. I have watched lots of DWTS on and off over the years but only consistently in the last few.

Rosy darling you don't have to kill to see Bruno Tognolis here as he appeared in 2 of our previous series. Youre obviously a little DWTS virgin and have only watched the last series?

Perko, I hope you're sitting down when you read this because you might be surprised. I don't even mind if they keep the same judges. What I DON'T want to see is a repeat of the behaviours/attitudes demonstrated this year. Hopefully the 3 Judges are lifelong learners and are able to improve as a result. No one is capable of knowing everything and everyone messes up from time to time. As long as they learn from their mistakes and improve their performance in the future, I'd be happy to see the 3 judges continue.
Mind you, I'd kill to see Bruno as a guest judge just because he's so entertaining, expressive and unique!

I like the 3 judge panel but with a "guest" judge every so often. Most professional judges have commitments but I'm sure there would be some that could do a "one-off". Not every week and make it random so it is a surprise to both the dancers and the audience.

I think they need a 4th judge that changes so the panel is kept fresh.

I'm with lovutoddy. Sure Julie & Tony have the creds, both have been champs (have seen them both in they hey-day many times) and have the teaching/judging experience but it wouldn't be as entertaining.

The current judges work well together, they have their roles and they personally get along well off-air and it shows. You need a panel that have a certain spark if you know what I mean. Like any commentators, whether on TV or radio, if they don't have that certain something it doesn't work.

But if there was to be a change, then I can see plenty of sparks flying lol I cann't speak for Craig, but he and toddy have worked together before, albeit a long time ago, so it should work. They may need to add a 4th judge with more technical experience, maybe Tony would work as the 4th. I can think of some non PC comments about that grouping but I'm sure I can leave it up to LUT to come up with those :)

The all male judge panel has reminded me of something else. I'll post it in PIBT.

Rosy, I too would like to see Teddy stay. I think with his reduced work schedule he should be in fine form next series and hopefully not as crabby and tired. He can be a very entertaining judge with he needs to ditch a bit of the attitude. I don't think it would be the same show without him but the other 2 are a different story.

What about Todd, Julie Schembri & Tony Gauci?

Todd can judge from entertainment point of view and the other two on dancesport style and techniques.

Hi perko yes those were the days... makes us sound soo mature. I only got to watch them in their adult days as I lived in the UK until then. I beleive they both (or at least one of them) danced at Blackpool too and (again from memory) were in the top 10. May have won Rising Star Award too.

Didn't one of them move to Finland or Iceland or somewhere similar.

Hope your ankle gets better soon that cannot be much fun, restricts the dancing too, gin or Baileys always helps the knitting of bones I find. :)
