jluo - Now that you mention is I think I have noticed Nadine sometimes pulls little expressions, but I always saw that as being quite natural and in character. You see, most people actually do that, whether consciously or not. Probably you too. And she doesn't do it all the time, just when she's reacting to something or when something seems to be "going through her mind". To me, it's part of why she's so good at her job.
I agree with jan - we are too used to artificial acting where everything is overly controlled, like that dead pan mask look you get in CSI Miami.
But I will watch more closely to see if there's something more to your comment.
Yes i know what you mean about CSI MIAMI, But even the male stars arent as animated as she is at times, They look more natural.. But would appreciate your feedback next week :) |

Nadine's acting technique and "facial expressions" seem to have stood her in good stead in a career spanning twenty-five years, earning her several important awards for her work along the way. She is a natural and animated artist, not a deadpan, artificial soap opera "actress"!!
Mine is just an opinion like yours jan_2602 .. Cheers |

| Yep, it was creepy, dramatic and brilliantly done. One of the things I like about Australian drama (when it's done well) is how they can put together something so intriguing and gripping without over-doing it like many US shows do. Australia can be masters of under-playing and when done right it's just fantastic. Duncan, Daniel, Noni and the creepy guy were all brilliant in their respective roles. |

| I love this show, it has restored my faith and enjoyment in homegrown Aussie tv. The character of Duncan, brilliant! He's compelling to watch. Noni comforting the deceased cop's wife - totally convincing and moving. This episode was a great play with the character of Hannibal Lecter...hey Quid Pro Quo! It was well done. |

| It's a different episode being repeated - the one next week was the return of Vince's character (Serious Men). |

William Zappa (the killer) deserves an AFI Nomination for that performance! I felt quite unsettled by the end of the programme, and definitely not ready to eat my customary late dinner!
As for repeating the repeat we only saw last month, are Seven trying to turn viewers off the show or what? (On the other hand, now that Underbelly has become legal local viewing they may be trying to take advantage of Vince Colosimo's appearance in CH as well - if that makes sense.) |

| I agree with you! It's the first time I've ever really watched this show, and I was impressed! Noni's scenes with the Ex Cops wife were a beautiful balance to the horrible viciousness of the serial killer. Killer scenes btw, made my skin crawl.. Well done! |

Yep next week is a repeat because of the Browlow Medal...lame!
Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the same damn episode they showed the week before the Olympics. |

| i tend to agree that the show tonight was certainly one of the best, perhaps the best. The acting of the sadistic torturer was magnificent, but it would be not even half the show without the script which has real psychological truth in it. The sadist's glee at the control he was wielding in the interview room, is akin to the supposed control he wielded and the glee/pleasure he gained from smelling fear, and hearing pain. "Duncan" played his response incredibly well, creating such tension! It was riveting drama, surpassing anything on tv seen here for a long long time. If you like drama, have a look at the kiwi Outrageous Fortune - its a cracker, tho it'd be hard pressed to match City Homicide. John Banas is a kiwi tho isnt he? |
