| "Himself" is pretty good. He had a little accident when we visited a friends place today - they have some dodgy steps up onto the verandah and he fell - so I'm keeping a bit of an eye on him. But I think he's okay. |

Yep, if it was a guy they'd be saying "Sir" all the time. I like it - nice to see a bit of old-fashioned respect. But I am surprised to see it in Australia. They all say it in the US - whether or not the person is a "superior" and even to civilians. I wonder if it's standard the Police forces here.
Anyone know?? |

I didn't watch the first season, and I've watched the last 3 episodes, but I am now well and truly hooked.
The only thing I find annoying is the constant use of "ma'am", where the lady boss is concerned. How often does this word need to be used? It has been used up to 5 or 6 times in a 1 minute scene! |

| Well, we're all entitled to our opinions eh! I think the show is great. Terrific storylines, good acting and keeps you engaged right through. The run of the mill American crime shows are two a penny and same old same old - extremely unrealistic. Now the British series (Midsomer etc) are terrific entertainment. |

| I agree that City Homicide is laughably atrocious - hackneyed plots, clichéd riddled writing, 2D characterisation, wooden acting, pointless (almost random)direction - so bad it would be impossible to satirise. However I disagree about OZ drama being all bad. Stingers, for example, was excellent. Its just that we haven't seen anything good lately. Ok, for the last decade or so! |

| Well after months of not watching City Homicide, I decided to give it a go again last night. What a big mistake, it is still as lousy as ever, once again the acting was second rate and the constant cuts to different camera angles are a pain. Shoot the director and the writers. Give the actors something decent to work with and they might be able to produce something worth watching. |

to all those people that don't like city homicide - shame on you! celest
if this show was watchable more people would watch it but as has already been said it is a total load of mucus and it is in fact shame on you for sitting thru an hour of pure bile so it is very clear to me that you are easily amused |

Is it just me, or does anyone else keep expecting Big Ted and Jemima to pop up from behind Noni's desk for a rousing round of 'the wheels on the bus'?
This is definitely the best hour of comedy on Aussie TV!
P.S. Does Aaron Pedersen have braces? I can't understand him ... |

| How anyone can call City Homicide a great show is beyond me. As I said earlier the acting is pathetic, and the story lines are drivel. Yes CSI is over the top, glity and unrealistic, but I'd rather watch it than be bored by City Homicide. |

| How anyone could compare CSI type shows with a great production like City Homicide is beyond me. CSI is so over-the-top, glitzy and unrealistic. Guess it depends on what you want out of the shows. I like more realism and think (mostly) the acting is good. Noni's character is pretty well meaningless to me, despite the fact that I like her generally. To each his own I guess. |

Meh, I love 'murder shows' and this one is one of the best, not to mention it's actually Aussie-grown instead of just another one of the millions of "murder" shows from the US.
God! look at all the whingers in this thread. If you don't like the show why bother crying about it in here? Just don't watch it FFS. There's lots of shows I hate but I rarely (if ever) waste my time visiting their forums to have a blubber about it.
And its tragic how so many Australian's love to put down Aussie shows and keep banging on about how American shows are always SO much better, brighter, glitzier, etc. It's like they're wannabe yanks.
And then they wonder why Australian producers never have the big budgets to give them all the whiz bang extras and effects they love to watch - if YOU don't support local productions neither do the people with money and our guys end up having to produce local content on a shoe-string budget. Simple as that. |

| I agree with you an easy solution would be to drop Noni Hazelhurst who is a very weak actor she spoils the show, Daniel is the only good actor in the show. They wonder why there is so much violence in the world , the Tv producers are fixated on Murder, personally i am sick of all the murder shows on Tv |

What a lot of rubbish. Of course talent "exists" in Australia and it's pretty lame to just totally dismiss our local industry simply because you personally dont enjoy watching City Homicide.
Our film and television industry has an international reputation as being top class and we our renowned for producing exceptionally talented and skilled people in all areas. City Homicide is an excellent example of this quality for a commercial network production. And the SBS drama East West 101 that aired last year is another example of brilliant Aussie drama created for a different audience.
And remember, Australia's film and tv industry lacks the massive financial backing enjoyed by the US and - to a lesser extent - the UK tv producers. Yet we still manage to oompete well on an international level with Aussie-made tv shows. |
