Re:Auditioning Reply to this message
fembearbbw, nearly everybody who posts to these boards (or merely lurk) are certainly simply fans of the show. However there are others who are, or have been, connected with film and television production, and can offer suggestions to hopefuls on how to get into the acting business - although why anyone would want to take up acting, even as an extra, is beyond me!

Re:Auditioning Reply to this message
If kerridwyn's claims to be in the show are genuine then he (she?) might actually know what he's talking about.

BUT you should be very careful about contacting people via their yahoo ids and giving them your details unless you have very good reason to trust the person.

If you take up acting lessons as suggested your tutor can probably tell you how to get onto audition lists.

Hi

Just want to let you know that you dont need to have an "Agent" to be on City Homicide, however if you do then be prepared to go out and do acting courses

If your interested in being an Extra on the program then there are agencies like for instance the one that I work with that have been booking talent for lots of there shows

If your interested romelaz drop me a message.

Re:Auditioning Reply to this message
If you are serious and professional (by this I mean you have done training, got involved in as much independent film and theatre as possible and will turn up on time and prepared for auditions), then you should send a headshot (done by a professional photographer) and a CV and a showreel of your work to all the agents in your city (the MEAA website can provide a list).
It's also possible to meet Lou Mitchell, the casting director, without having an agent - she runs audition workshops at places like TAFTA and The Rehearsal Room in Melbourne, where you will perform a scene for her and if you're any good and a suitable role comes up she may get you in to audition.
But, to be honest, since you're posting on a TV discussion baord about how to audition for the show, it doesn't seem like you're really clued up about the acting business, and therefore no one is going to take you seriously, so I would suggest you start by doing some research. Find out where the good classes are, who the good agents are, who does casting for what shows and how to contact them. And set up profiles on the casting websites and find out which websites provide the best info about auditions and job opportunities. All the info is out there on the web, you just have to take the trouble to find it. Oh, and be prepared to spend a lot of money, and work really hard for nothing or next to nothing for a long time!
Good luck.

Try this ~
http://www.yellowpages.com.au
and do a search under Theatrical Agents for your state or capital city. However - unlike pubs and service stations - you don't find agents on every other street corner.
