| Neither do I, Tash. She's pretty much a waste of space, in my opinion. The silly thing is, when she was away on compassionate leave and Jarvis took over her job, he seemed to get a more active role in the show and always had plenty to say. Perhaps the writers need to rethink the scripts they are giving her. Currently, her role is bland and uninteresting to say the least. |

| I agree the sex etc. is a bit over the top lately - far prefer to have it left to imagination! As the too many characters - I thought so too at first, but am used to it now. Not sure I like Nick. Tasma's OK - except she looks cr*p with long hair! :) I do wish Noni had a bigger role but I expect that's coming, as they have to let us know why she doesn't like the new girl. Geez, can't even remember her NAME! |

| Hi Trek, maybe, but she's always taken a lesser kind of role since the show's inception, so maybe she has other coals in the fire? Most of them would have other things going, especially someone of her calibre. | I'm still really enjoying CH, although I don't think Tasma suits the role of the profiler very well. Overall, I think the quality of the storylines (even though you maynot like the story) is still very high. I agree with dirk - Criminal Minds is far more violent than CH, yet I really enjoy that show too. Have watched it since series 1 and it's one of the few US shows I really look forward to seeing (apart from Bones). |

| PS - except the episodes involving her son of course! That was the highlight of the show so far. I think they need to bring in more humour. Nothing too silly, just a bit more banter and fun to balance the nasty stuff. There was an episode with a larrikin bloke in it that I really liked early in the piece. I reckon they need more of that. |

| Tash - I think the script-writers don't give her enough to do. Noni is a fantastic actor but she's being held back in this show. BTW just as a point of interest, I think the episode the OP refers to was loosely based on the Bernies who attacked women in Perth years ago. Nasty pair they were. |

That and the fact that our original 4 detectives seem to be lost in the crowd. I also think the success of shows such as Underbelly has raised the level of expectation on violent and sexual scenes on Primetime television, and most shows feel they now have to emulate that or lose viewers. |

| If you think the violence is bad, try watching Criminal Minds. Great cast, truly disturbing violence against women every week. Made that rape scene in CH look like a walk in the park. I stopped watching it for that reason alone. |

| I hate to say it but it's certainly not the series it was in the first two seasons. | No you're not alone, luke_goura24. As I said in the other thread, I'm not enjoying this show the way I used to either. It's changed a lot this season. And I can do without the violence too. It's one thing to know what actually happened (eg. the rape incident) because the cops talk about it, and quite another to witness it for ourselves. Why do some TV shows insist on showing every gruesome detail? People can argue that it makes it realistic because these things do really happen but do we really need to see it for ourselves? Isn't it enough to know that it happened? Does anyone actually ENJOY seeing this sort of thing? As far as the story goes, as long as we know what happened we can follow and understand the events that follow and, to me, that's the important thing. Profilers don't usually get brought in for any old run of the mill murder, they are usually consulted only in the cases where serial crimes, such as murder, rape and child molestation, have been committed. |

| Or does City homicide seem to be heading downhill? All the plots now seem to involve sexual deviants of some kind ie peadophiles, rapists, perverts etc. On top of that it seems to getting more and more graphically violent. I know it's show about murder investigation, some violence is to be expected. but the scene from last week with the dude raping the girl with his wife egging him on just made me feel sick. Plus that sex scene in that same episode was completely unneeded and so over the top. Am I alone in this? |
