I have written to Channel 7 informing them that I am blacklisting them from next week and will no longer be watching their channel nor the advertisements screened during All Saints. Other disgruntled viewers should tell Channel 7 how they think too.

They should write out Bart and Amy, send them off to Africa perhaps.
The rest of the cast is fine, I like Steve, I wouldn't dump him. Claire is irritating me, but I think she's a decent actress. Perhaps Adam/Claire as a couple might work?
The writers urgently need to dump the MRU, focus the action back in the ED, and give Frank/Charlotte/Von decent SLs.

I know it can't fun forever. And after the last 10 episodes or so, they have made this very clear.
However if they axe it now, it will have 496 episodes (at the end of season; they are supposed to stop filming for the year in August, which is when they usually do the finales) under its belt. 15 Episodes off beating Blue Heeelers record and becoming Australia's longest running weekly drama.
That's all I want to see happen now..

another thing that isn't getting a mention. is that we do have to hand it to 7 for doing a great job with aussie drama. in a few weeks when city homicide returns and double take starts they will have 6 hours of aussie scripted content per week. which is almost double ten's 3.5 and towers above 9's zero (sea patrol is almost over)

so it's not like if AS is axed they are slack and don't care about aussie jobs and talent. they will still be the most supportive of aussie drama. that said 9 should be doing more.

however i think the writers should decide to end it in 2010 after the 22 episodes. and give it a natural ending. it can't run forever it may as well go out with some dignity and once it's head is on the chopping block like it is now it is never a good sign.

it's a case of end it naturally then, or have it axed mid storyline at about that time anyway.

i agree with everyone in that they should just drop the whole mru thing... it's simply costing too much money to run! the money should be better spent in actors/actresses for example.
if they axe all saints, they'll be on the receiving end of many angry fans.. as well as the fact that MORE jobs will be lost...

I thought execs had to choose between All Saints and Blue Heelers back in 2005.
And All Saints rated higher, so they kept that.

lesley, if the ratings justified the high cost of the MRU action scenes and helicopter, then Channel Seven wouldn't be as hesitant about renewing the show.

But it's not just about ratings, nowadays - because of the financial crisis, everyone is trying to cut back and this affects All Saints, too. If Channel Seven can't justify the high production costs of All Saints, even after cutting its episode order (because frankly, I don't believe the problems will all be solved by cutting the production order in half), then the network will be left with no choice but to either axe the show outright or to do some major retooling, which would cost more money. In their eyes, the most cost-effective move may be just to end the show.

It was a similar reason for Blue Heelers' axing, in the end. It came down to money. Channel Seven couldn't afford both BH and the AFL rights, so they dumped BH and used falling ratings as a justification for doing so.

All Saints was really awesome, but they're trying to do plots with the sh** characters like Claire and Amy etc, which just doesn't work. I think the problem is they aren't really focusing on making us get attatched to the characters, just throwing them into bouts of drama...it's ridiculous if you think about it.

I know they need to do plots with all characters, but to be honest, I think that Amy, Claire, and Bart are just...ugh. Charlotte, Von, Adam, Katarina, Gabrielle and Frank are all interesting with their little quirks and personalities. I think Steve is sort of inbetween.
Claire, Amy and Bart are just kind of like....typical icky charas.

Oh darn! I hope not, but it has had a good run eh. Will certainly be sorely missed if it goes down the gurgler. Maybe the new direction it's taken was a last ditch attempt to gain more viewers?

I have watched AS from the first episode and have not missed one episode.

I fail to understand why a show that has such high ratings would be axed due to cost or financial factors. Surely there is an ofset somewhere??

Television stations should be supporting Australian shows and providing what their watching public want. I do not see this as being the case with the axing of AS.

Axe AS channel 7 and I will be axing you!@!

I was so angry when Always Greener got axed... that aweful cliff hanger they left us with? The one where that druggie girl who was in recovery walked in on her new BF shooting up?
At least if they can AS I hope they show their fans some respect and tie up ends nicely, like a wedding or something, and dont leave us all hanging.

If we all contact Ch 7, they will listen - 02 9877 7777

We have to tell everyone we know to watch tonight, and show Ch 7 that it is one of Australia's favourite dramas. Cut the episodes down, but we still want to watch it!

No offense, mattriley, but they're not going to say over the phone "Oh yes we are going to axe the show". The announcement would have to be official and in the press.

I wouldn't put much faith in what the people on the phone tell you. Even if they knew one way or the other, they wouldn't be allowed to say anything.

Always Greener was still very popular when it got axed; it caused a major stir when it did get the chop and it wasn't due to ratings, it was due to the expense.

Channel seven will sure be losing s great show if All Saints does get axed. What will be on instead? Somsethilng american I suppose. Channel seven should be keeping Australian TV shows not axing them.

All Saints is great scripted Australian drama, and we cannot lose this show. Scale it back, but don't axe it.

I'm going to ring Ch 7 and if enough of us do this they might listen. The show is rating well, and has been a major stable of Australian talent for years.

Get everyone you know to ring in, and save this show!
