| Sorry, didn't mean to be presumptive. But I still think it's odd Claire didn't twig, even just an idly curious 'how come you never drink?' type thing. |

paulacole2000:
I don't drink alcohol and it has nothing to do with religion or being an alcoholic. It was a personal choice.
And of the people I know who also choose not to drink, their reasons also have nothing to do with religion or alcoholism.
I played bass in bands in pubs and other licensed venues for years and never once did people wonder or enquire about why I didn't drink.
So I'd give Steve a break here .... lol. Having said that, I realise AS is a tv show and not real life. |

| crosstake: I agree - I wrote about the time thing in another thread about this - there is no time to build up the sexual tension that is so important in tv shows. |

| I want to know why Claire didn't cotton on sooner? It's so uncommon to have an adult to doesn't drink AT ALL, usually either for religious reasons or because they're an alcoholic. |

| I think if you had been subjected to domestic violence, stalking, rape and bashing, you would certainly be dead-set against alcohol, regardless of it being two yrs since Steve had a drink. |

This is why I'm not a big fan of the show as it is. Steve and Claire just jumped into a relationship, then they rushed Ian in and made it too drama-filled too fast.
They are definitely developing these romances way too soon. It's the build-up and the tension which makes the payoff that much bigger. Remember how long we waited for Terri and Mitch? And the episode when they finally really got together, the episode with ebola....everyone loved it. Because it had been built up enough. |

I've gone off Claire in a big way, so I'm glad she and Steve are finished.
I'd rather see Steve and Jo hooking up! |

| That's heaps tight of Claire. Like, it's not like he's an addict now, it's in the past. He obviously has had the determination to get through it, so wouldn't you think Claire should be proud of it? So to speak. But that's okay, I didn't like them together anyway. :P |

its official claire and steve are over.
Claire broke it off after steve confessed to being a former alcoholic. Claire tells steve that she doesn't want to be involved with anybody who has problems. Steve's also shocked that claire placed him in the same category as Ian as being a monster, especially after all he has done for her.
seriously i think claire may have been a bit harsh on steve i mean he hasn't had a drink in like 2 years.
wat do you guys all think? :)
All this information is in this weeks TV Week. :) |
