| I feel so sick at this news, it is such a devastating loss and brings home the blunt truth at how awful this disease is. As a family member to a sufferer, it is so incredibly frustrating because from the outside it seems so simple but you absolutely cannot begin to understand what that person has going on in their head. All you can do is try to be that supportive friend. My heart goes out to Mark's family and friends. All Saints and for that matter, this world, will never be the same. xx |

| You obviously don't have a clue! Depression is a disease, you just can't help it and I think that you are stupid for being so inconsiderate. And yes, I have depression, so I know. | I too suffer from depression and my wife and I feel for Mark's parents. Too many people suffer in silence and you sometimes are afraid to ask for help. |

| I haven't stopped thinking about it all day. I felt like Mark (Dan) as my friend,I NEVER missed an episode. He was a delight to watch on All Saints.A great actor. It is SO VERY SAD, and NOT an easy way out as some idiot wrote. My heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends and the cast of All Saints. | i am married to am beautiful man that has bipolar. i have been through the good and the bad and i have seen him go from totally happy to so depressed i didnt think he would go on.my daughter and i have also lost an amazing man to suicide too,it leaves a massive hole in anyones heart,but moreso when you have experienced it first hand. People are so dam judgemental of the sufferers and it makes me sick. | you ignorant uneducated person - just because you choose to ignore issues doesnt mean it may not come up and bite you one day....depression is a sinister disease that has no discrimination or demarcation. some of us who suffer can manage our illness for years and for some they perish... those high profile people who admit to suffering from mental illness at least had the guts to reveal themselves...don't hide in the shadows and let this beast consume you - GET HELP!....and don't let lazy people who live in fear of this dictate to you otherwise..btw, I work for government -we have the highest incidence of stress n depression in the workplace... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| My most heartfelt sympathies to those close to Mark. As a fellow depression sufferer, I can understand something of the pain he was feeling. I have been lucky in that I've been able to get the help I needed, and am slowly recovering. To my fellow sufferers out there, we all need to summon our courage when we're able and help the wider community understand our plight. Only then will we have a chance of removing some of the stigma, and make it easier for those in that excruciating pain to get help. It IS worth the fight. I live in hope of a day when we don't lose precious people to this horrible disease. |

| My daughter suffers from depression and has tried to commit suicie twice in the six months unless you, your family or friends are going through somethg like this you just would not understand. People need to realise depression is not something you just snap out of. It is a disease which needs constant help and councelling. | I can't believe that someone who sits at home with no job, sponging off the rest of us hard working tax payers would be so insensitive. How about a little respect for the dead? It doesnt matter how good a life you have, you cannot decide if you will be depressed or not, it just happens due to a chemical imbalance in your brain and obviously you don't have one!!! I would like to extend my heartfelt sorrow to Mark's family and friends during this difficult time, and I am so sad to hear about his passing. He was a great actor and will be missed very much. Rest in Peace Mark, you are a wonderful person. |

Being depressed is not being lazy, its an insiduous disease that is LIFE THREATENING! I know becasue I work in mental health AND Im a sufferer and GUESS WHAT Im also a tax payer ! I took 4 months off work when my depression was at its worst and I was in hospital and as Ive paid tax for 20 years, I think I was warranted in claiming sick benefits for 3 months once all my leave was gone. Become informed before making such insensitive arcahic judgements !!!! |

| People just don't get it do they!!!!!!!!!!! Most people who suffer depression have not had some sort of tradgedy or anything to set off their depression. It is infact a chemical imbalance, you have no control over it. The people here who are saying nasty things just don't know anything, it affects everyone differently. There is nothing selfish about suicide, the comment here are the reason why most people don't talk about depression. It is NOT all in your head, it is NOT just a matter of not being able to handle things. I get so frustrated by people who are just ignorant. |
