| Yeah my bestfriends daughter used to go to preschool or something with John Waters son in Leichhardt in Sydney. Apparently his partners really nice, quite abit younger than him. He comes across abit reserved but the wife is supposed to be quite friendly. |

Oh Kitty that is just so totally and completely AWESOME!!!
Good for you! Shame he wasn't wearing those skimpy scrubs we've often dreamed about...
Hmmm....
* snaps back into reality *
That really is just so cool. He has got to be the hottest "old guy" on Australian tv. And I say old guy with the deepest respect to our 50 and over members of the industry!! (OMG in saying that I just remembered he is the same age as my Dad. Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts..) |

Yes, I'd forgotten about 'Summerfield' too (oh, the joys of getting older....lol). In that one he had an incestuous relationship with his sister.
He also stripped, ever so briefly, in 'Eliza Fraser'.
One of his little-shown movies that I really enjoyed was 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' (no stripping in that one though...lol). |

Ah the magic of google!!
The movie was Summerfield, filmed in 1977 the year after Eliza Frazer. Co-starred Nick Tate and Elizabeth Alexander, who coincidentally played Franks ex-wife in All Saints! They also both starred in The Scalp Merchant, a tv movie in 1978 - I wonder if John stripped off in that too?? Sounds like he does in a lot of his movies - not that I'm objecting!!
Just picked up on the part in the comment below that he was topless on PLAYSCHOOL????? I guess any excuse to get John showing some flesh and producers will go for it haha wasn't he topless in a scene in All Saints too? |

That movie was 'Eliza Fraser', which starred Susannah Yorke. I'd forgotten all about it until just now.
One episode of 'Play School' had John stripped to the waist, too. All the swooning Mums kept a lookout for repeats of that episode.
How many of you remember John as Sgt. McKellar in the ABC drama series "Rush"? The first series was way better than the second, but the ABC blundered badly by filming it in black and white, apparently not expecting it to be so popular. It was a huge success, but because it was in B&W it couldn't be sold overseas and it's never been repeated at home, as colour TV came in soon after. |

| Haha my aunt saw John topless once! She worked for a caterer who did the food for a movie he was working on. When she saw him he was standing around smoking a cigarette, wearing jeans and a hat and waiting for someone to bring him a shirt! She didn’t speak to him coz she was too nervous and because there was a lighting technician she had a crush on and he came to talk to her at the same time and she didn’t want to put him off by gawping at John Waters the whole time haha though why she would bother with him when John was around… John stripped off completely for a scene in that movie and according to my aunt there is a wonderful view of his bum!!! Lol |

| A right, I only ever saw the film, never a stage version so it's probably completely different. |

| I guess the names are coincidence because 'Zoe' was on All Saints quite a while before the appearance of 'Mike'. |

| Of course, one of his first roles after coming to Australia from England was in 'Hair' with Marcia Hines, and wearing a lot less than a shirt and underwear....lol |

| I wonder if John Waters' character, Mike, felt drawn to Alison Cratchley's, Zoe, because in real life John's wife is also named Zoe? |

| Kitty - I've just read of your meeting with John Waters. More than 30 years ago that was my dream to meet him - way back when he was Sgt. McKellar in 'Rush', and a presenter on 'Play School'. I wasn't the only mother who was late taking their kids to preschool because we wanted to watch him. |

| You lucky, lucky thing. I would LOVE to meet him, he is one of my favourite's on AS. Maybe the angry face was him getting into character? The Rocky character in the Rocky Horror Show is really angry, despite all the singing and dancing. (Or have I got this wrong and he is not even starring in it?) Anyway, you lucky, lucky girl (again) |

John seemed honest that nothing would ever happen between zoe and mike... he really seemed upset about it, which was supremely cute. Think Im in Love!!!
Im really, really going to miss Zoe, considering her and mike were my fav characters. hopefully allison will regret her decision and come back, but i doubt it. i suppose she felt it was time to move on, possibly to other shows. shes not as young as mark and jolene, so i guess she felt it was her time to have a go at some other roles, or perhaps she was offered something else... eitherway, itll be interesting to see how she leaves. Perhaps it will be the cliff hanger before the olympics! |

| It doesn't surprise me to hear Alison is leaving. I honestly felt she never really fit into the show - maybe they tried to hard to make her into a Charlotte replacement when she deserved more than that. Plus, I have a feeling we're seeing the mass exodus of cast that you often see when a long-running show comes to an end - so far in a year they've lost Chris Vance, Chris Gibradi and Alex Davies, the year before that they lose Paul Tassone and Natalie Saleeba, and now it looks like Wil Traval and Alison Cratchly are leaving, too. |

| Yeah, I heard Allison is leaving. Apparently Tammy was very jealous of her and gave her a hard time constantly. I hope she doesn't go. |

Wow, thats fantastic!!!!! How nice of him to ask for your name and everything, especially when he didnt look like he was in too great a mood to start off with!! I seriously hope that he stays with the show for a very long time!!! Maybe he was only kidding about him and Zoe not getting together??He it could be happening very soon so he thought that it would be a great surprise for you.At least I hope thats what happens. The way things are going for Zoe though at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if she is regretting her decision to back Frank and is either going to go behind his back again or ,as John Waters has said, decide to leave the ED and get a managing position elsewhere. :<
I wish I could get to meet someone from any tv show or movies, but I'd doubt it no-one ever comes to Adelaide :< My mum met Sean Connery once when she worked at a hotel in England, when he was James Bond. She said he was really nice. |
