| Kind words, Kinger, KO & Al. Same in return with interest added! I am at a low in enthusiasm about Footy at present. The Granny was gr8, individual events were fantastic as well. The Cousins affair. Chris Mainwaring's passing and the gutless "blame game" by a squirming Administration was to be honest, sickening. The loss virtually of "Free to Air" for all Aussies in Sports telecasting, whilst always suspected as likely, in it's more lately manifestations and the abuse of power by the Brokers of the AFL to further marginalise the powerless membership and genuine followers is not unlike a caste system. I admit, that is not so necessarily a new thing, but, the extent and impact is. Just like the Beach in many Metropolitan areas is necessarily controlled, the careless freedoms my generation enjoyed are disappearing fast! It makes me sad for those following us. When Clubs were Clubs, Stars were homegrown and dependent on a large supporting Cast of lesser lights, stalwarts and wet butts in sometimes freezing outers. The press of the crowd provided warmth, shelter and humour. The odd bit of spite by the ruffies was always less than nasty and it was possible mostly for kids to go unmolested. Race riots mostly unknown and the less fortunate not scorned but helped. Don't tell me the Conservatives aren't "Un Australian!" I won't believe you! |

| I also felt the "Q" did OK, his workrate is never in question! Like Richo, I always felt he would go better away from the magnetism of the "big sticks". It certainly helped Richo to have a stretch and more kicks over the course of a match. McKinley looks purpose made and Kennedy is an absolute revelation in how quickly he has made an impact. I might add, I am a sentimental fool and would love to see Cousins going around in the West Coast strip again, sadly, that will not happen and the policy of renewal and rebirth through youth and shared growth is sound! |

| Hey KO & Co. sorry to seemingly desert you in our darkest hours. Was in Shipyard among other things, like playing soccer with elephants, ended up with a torn hammy, a strain in the other, two damaged calves, twisted knee with anterior and posterior damage, no doubt the miniscus is not too good. Complicating that, my GP & Orthopaedic saviour have retired. For me downtime is not an option. Refused to use anti-inflamm's until last day so the pain would force me to adjust and manage rather than doing extra damage! That situation, Shipyard, also meant being without ready "e" access up until GF day. Must say Hawthorn were magnificent, so, that's what I'm talkin' about! I have not really had much time to see what is going down but I believe they may have cut Chad Jones loose! 2009 may well see another hit and miss affair as so many newbies, although well advanced through unusual opportunities in '08 to strut their stuff, will still be a question of org@ nisation, understanding and "team" development. That and the natural progression of individual skills development will be interesting to watch. Clarko took some time as did the Hawks B4 drawing a "line in the sand!" As for "the others" hating us, I guess that's just a want on behaviour unlikely to occur consistently. The boards that I have seen this past year have been pretty much an improvement as thread development provides the rantings to proceed mostly outside genuine attempts to discuss the game etc. |

| interesting that the dog's are interested in Hansen........ he isn't the sort of forward you would build your forward line around but the Big Low IQ trying to impersonate Richo and Hansen off a forward flank with McKinley leading from full forward should be alright. Just need someone at the feet of Cox and someone to step up and offer more support for Wayne Kerr or even better step up and step over Kerr to take on their best midfield role which I think will help Kerr out more so. | Sorry Wanton, couldn't wait any longer with you MIA, hope all is well. Hopefully this class is better than the failure of last year's class, a big F on the class report. Interesting to see if we can get a trade done for Seaby and if Graham stays around. Still a bright future for this class, McKinley's signed for another 2 years which shows the club's culture to be on the mend as he didn't want to be here initially. Macnamara will be a star as will LeCras if he stays fit. Natanui will be a welcome addition if we pick him at #2. Roll on 09 so we can get ready for the flag in 2010. Go Eagles. Lets hear from Davemickey, fog, wanton and any others I've forgotten. Us vs the rest now, they really do hate us. |
