Another "flattering stat;
Team and Players Overall # Player Pl Won Lost Drawn Win % Av PF Av PA First Last
1 Brisbane Lions 44 16 26 2 38.64 87.05 93.73 2006 2007
2 Merrett, D. 31 10 19 2 35.48 83.13 91.71 2006 2007
Player value stat, 35.48% wow, he is the winningest ever, mind Brissies winning stat; 38.64% not that gr8 overall, seems he is below par with the rest however!

That'll be Danial Merritt no doubt, see how he goes against BBB in Canberra on the weekend! Pretty sure he can't mean Justin Leppitsch, but, anything is possible!!?
Stats from the last 10 games, Brisvegas vs West Coast;

1 2007 14 Bris Lions 13.13 (91) vs West Coast 9.10 (64) Sub WON 27
2 2006 20 Bris Lions 7.10 (52) vs West Coast 16.18 (114) Gab Lost -62
3 2006 5 Bris Lions 9.9 (63) vs West Coast 18.14 (122) Sub Lost -59
4 2005 16 Bris Lions 13.10 (88) vs West Coast 17.9 (111) Sub Lost -23
5 2005 5 Bris Lions 12.12 (84) vs West Coast 23.19 (157) Gab Lost -73
6 2004 19 Bris Lions 10.13 (73) vs West Coast 12.15 (87) Gab Lost -14
7 2004 4 Bris Lions 10.16 (76) vs West Coast 12.7 (79) Sub Lost -3
8 2003 12 Bris Lions 13.13 (91) vs West Coast 24.16 (160) Gab Lost -69
9 2002 20 Bris Lions 20.16 (136) vs West Coast 13.11 (89) Gab WON 47
10 2002 5 Bris Lions 10.15 (75) vs West Coast 18.13 (121) Sub Lost -46
That's a loss ratio of 80% at Gabba and Subi, when the were supposedly, the gr8est ever with an accummulated o'all deficit of -275 points or -27.5 points per match!

Re:Class of 2008 Reply to this message
Having digested the current readiness of the two clubs I am of the considered opinion, all things being equal, March 22nd, West Coast will account for Brisbane, at Subiaco, by 36+ points, BOG will be Daniel Kerr, 3 votes, Dean Cox 2 votes and Q, Lynch 1 vote with 9 goals.
No Mal Michael, no hope!

YOU HAVE JUST PROVED YOURSELF A FOOOOOL WANTON . ROUND 1 AT SUBI AGAINST THE LIONS IS TO EASY . THE LIONS HAVE THE WORST RECORD OF ANY AFL CLUB AGAINST THE EAGLES SO ITS PROBABLY GOING TO BE THE EASIEST GAME OF THE SEASON FOR THE EAGLES .

Re:Class of 2008 Reply to this message
Not wanting to rain on anyones parade but it is conceivable that West Coast will not have any Premiership points after Round 5 of 2008;
Rnd 1 vs Brisbane @ Subiaco
Rnd 2 vs Adelaide @ AAMI
Rnd 3 vs Fremantle @ Subiaco
Rnd 4 vs Sydney at A n Z
Rnd 5 vs Port @ Subiaco.
If you were anyone other than a West Coast die hard, you could feasibly see a best case outcome of 8 Premiership points at that time ( 20 April ) so by A n ZAC Day W'end, against the Western B.S. @ T.Dome followed by an appointment with Fev & the Juddster, they may yet have only 8 points going up against the Shinners at Gold Coast, Rnd 8, 17th May 08.
This may yet be the grim year some wish upon us!

Hats off to you GT, a very gr8 thing you did there. Our community needs more of those grass roots and "real" gestures of humanity. The cost of Insurance and life in general has exploded as community has lost some of it's core values,
3 Cheers, the Red & the White... what am I saying!!

I had tickets to go to the Albany game wanton but gave them up to a local young fella and his family. He isn't in the best of health so it was my way of cheering him up a little ... his life is miserable at best and not going to be as long as yours or mine.

If Kerr stands up, Cox, Staker, Hunter and Lynch have good seasons then the Egos SHOULD play a part in September action. Always a guess at this stage but most things are a guess when it comes to AFL.

Re:Class of 2008 Reply to this message
Did you get to the game in Albany GT? Perhaps too busy chasing the Fillies and Geldings at the track!?
Will reserve my thoughts wrt top 8 for about 6 rounds I reckon. Still have some class acts and did get by without Judd & Cousins a fair bit but, Chick added a bit of "mongrel" across half back, not sure where that is going to come from, possibly Selwood!? Stenglein!? with a bit more glide than grunt perhaps. Seems like at least a year since the season ended!

Re:Class of 2008 Reply to this message
Egos still have some very influential players, they've lost some dazzle but who knows how that will affect 'em over the next 5 months.

They aren't a bad side. They are strong in the ruck which is important, as history always testifies. They do have good key forwards and a backline that has played well in the past.

Top 8 without too much worry.

OK, KO, that's very "Danny Green" of you! As long as they haven't followed a 3 months of harrowing travel and punishing punch ups B4 facing a "Mouthy Mundine" under hydrated!

As the pre season draws to a close, apart from some dreadful luck for young Mitch Brown, transition time at West Coast is progressing pretty well.
You would be a supreme optimist to believe everything will be tickety boo and that as in the past 3-4 years, West Coast will bound out into Premiership favouritism.
Woosh & Co. seem to think that progress is looking gr8 to date and as with all works in progress, there is a mixed match of results but, steady and measurable improvement.
1st up are the "Lionesses" who obviously fancy themselves as a chance to repay the past 5 years of humiliation at the Gabba by the West Coast engine room. Fancying themselves is what preening "Lionessses" do, so no surprise! However, just as Madonna can't see her fading charms and futile cosmetic band aids, the supreme toothless tantrum, Jon Brown, lies mouldering in the grave of past imagined greatness.
It will be an interesting stoush first up. Leuenberger, from Swan Districts I think from memory, is no stranger to the West, neither is Black. But the real class is still at home on Subiaco Oval. The big Q to kick a few and the Rucks, midfield will seal the "Roadkill" celebrations.
