I agree with some comments on Lynch here -- he is definitely not slacking off. When he isn't scoring goals, he is always doing something else for the team, so his dedication should definitely not be questioned. I think that Worsfold wants him to present more and become more of a consistent target. He seems to want Lynch to kick at least 3 goals per game, but that may change now.
McKinley will definitely earn a spot as a forward now, I'm guessing at FF. He presents quite well, has good hands and a solid kick. I'm not sure how things will shape up when Kennedy and Le Cras can make an appearance this season, but I'm looking forward to it. That way, it gives us more breathing space, and takes the pressure off of guys like Hansen and Lynch, who are still very much a part of this team -- no doubt. It also lets Woosha move other players back into their preferred positions, like placing Embley back in the midfield/wing and moving Wirrpanda back in defence.
Also, great move -- I think, anyway -- by Woosha to give some younger guys a go this early in the season. It isn't playing it safe, which is excellent. These boys will get some game time and learn from their experiences and mistakes. Come the latter rounds of the season, these lads will be ready. Making short-term difficult moves for long-term gain -- good stuff from Woosha. |

| Even Woosha has that he is not playing up to scratch at the moment. I noticed that he said he wasn't getting value for his efforts |

| agree fog, I've been saying it for some time now. When Seaby or Cox rest at ff, Lynch takes his player away from the ball or shepherds at the contest. Constantly doing the team things but no recognition for it. |

Lynch probably gets the best defender every week. You cant question his endevour etc but he doesn't play like a FF he does a lot of work up the ground but it's not always useful. I think he will be better with McKinlay and hopefully Kennedy in there.
Obviously he is not a star FF or CHF but the big Q tries, pity some of the other more skillfull players didnt |

Hunter is overated.
Hopefully Kennedy will get a gig at CHF. I'd still keep Lynch at a half forward flank or forward pocket, maybe with the 3rd tall defender he'll go a bit better. He doesn't play your typical FF role, but I think he needs a bigger engine if he's going to make it at AFL level. Time's running out for the big fella. |

Mckinley has a good shot on him and presents well. I think they finally have a full forward to complement their ruckman and full back ... now the rest of the spine!
(hopefully with McKinley they can play Hunter in his best position!) |

| the game is getting fast and you have to be able ti hit targets ... FLetcher couldn't hit a parked double decker bus 10 metres away ... then again looking at the game neither could Lynch. How the hell could someone miss from 10metres out! That ain't bad form that is stupidity! |

I thought Chad Jones showed a bit on the weekend, as did Braun.
Have to agree with you re Fletcher, maybe the pace of the game has passed him by. |

The loss to Port Adelaide yesterday was such a weird game. We couldn't play competent football for 3/4, and our only goals during this time came from cheap free kicks and lucky low percentage goals. All I saw for 3/4 of football from West Coast were countless turn-overs, ball watching and numerous moments of indecision. It reminded me of the time the club experienced between 2000 and 2003.
Guys like Fletcher, Lynch, Nicoski, Braun and Chad Jones really need to improve.
The 4th quarter was interesting, because we kicked 7 goals, and most were convincing, but it also came at a time when Port struggled to hold the lead, which happened to the club against Brisbane the previous week.
The first 3/4 of football told me that we have a lot of work to do if we want to be competitive this year. The final quarter showed that the club has *a lot* of potential. Most of our big-name players woke up and played beautifully in the last 10-15 minutes of the game: Cox, Glass, Kerr, Stenglein, Embley, Selwood, Hunter, Brett Jones, etc. Guys like Waters and Wirrpanda were solid for most of the game.
It also looks like we finally (fingers crossed) have another key forward -- McKinley, who kicked 5 goals. I can't wait to see this guy play alongside players like Kennedy and Le Cras in the forward line. Lynch, as some of us can see, needs to improve. |

Saying or suggesting that West Coast needs to rebuild is foolish. Ben Cousins barely played last year and Chris Judd missed some crucial matches as well. Also, remember that Judd was carrying injuries for almost the entire 2nd half of the 2007 season, so his influence wasn't great.
Public knowledge about W.C.E. players outside of WA is rare. Everyone in Australia seems to be able to talk about Cousins and Judd, which is fair enough, but give credit when and where it's due. In the 2007 season, remember that 3 West Coast players were selected in the All-Australian team: Kerr (the so-called [ex] '3rd midfielder'), Cox and Glass.
There are more than a dozen players at the club that just need some guidance, leadership and a few tactical changes here and there, to be able to compete with the best once again. Once Worsfold solves some tactical issues and can come up with a new forward structure, we'll be ok. |

| The team I follow has copped heaps for what has happened in the past now we are doing a bloody good job we ars still getting in the neck. We stuck it up the AFL.We haven't had any draft handouts like some teams in the recent past. True we all should move on ,but without Judd and Cousins WEST COAST have came back to field .Go North Melbourne |

Kiwi,ss is probably a rugby league supporter, you know that mob that are a month behind everybody else. Why else would anybody bring up the Judd cousins thing, as you say most intelligent supporters have moved on.
