| Kingy, probably stems back to the VFL days when the Vics came over here and offered our state players huge sums of money to play for them, players such as Barry Cable,Krakour Brothers,Ross Glendinning.Supporters in W.A. supported their local clubs and adopted North as their VFL team. |

yes i've also heard that , maybe if North stillfeel the need to play some home away from home games , they could do worse than sell a couple back to Freo and the Eagles.?
i think it has to do with the amount of WA plsyers we had during the 70's and 80's. |

Glen's about to undertake his most important mission to date. Along with Ricky Ponting & James Brayshaw , they're off around Aus trying to raise a further 8 mil in capital that they will get the use of for 10 yrs. Which they can invest and get any returns it may generate. The money would be returned to its owner(s) in 10 yrs.
Yup, just give it to Alan, hahahah
Not a good time to play financial "hide the sausage"! |

| North and Melbourne to merge, who is going to merge with the bulldogs?I believe their time also could be running out.It would be interesting if they put a second club in brisbane and sydney,to see if the swans and lions could survive. When the eagles and adelaide started winning flags the afl were probably scared in case the 2 teams would dominate and brought in the dockers and port and all these clubs have great membership and created a healthy rivalry, all clubs are a buisness and if you do not produce the goods and the dollars you go broke,it would be interesting to see how much money the afl has given to these struggling clubs and will it ever get paid back.In short merge/relocate or disappear for ever. |

| 3.5 P, you are out of your mind mate! They have already used these formulae to dismantle the Roys! After haggling with a few clubs the Bears evolved! Happen to the Eagles, balance sheet says otherwise. No sympathies here, like Carlton, Essendon etc. paying the price of buying rather than developing players! Oh, and brain dead parochial besides! |

| I posted this to show just how the minds of the AFL big nobs work. West coast could be next or any other team in the league for that matter |

In talks between Brendan Gale and head of AFL, Andrew Demitriou it is rumoured thatDemetriou has predicted that the Roo`s will be broke by the end of 2008. He has stated that the Roo`s have played into the hands of the league by refusing to re-locate to the Gold coast and that plans are all ready in place to for a Gold coast team to join league.
The announcement of a 50 year lease on stadium at Runaway Bay is expected to be announced soon.
Demetriou has said that if Roo`s do fold there would be no need to form a 17th franchise and that the Gold Coast would assume the Roo`s position in the league.
A new facility would be built 5x larger than the Lexus complex in Melbourne
Obviously loyalty and gamesmanship has gone out the window.
