| Love your faith Alby, but the Ford name would still be owned by Ford, we'd be running as Tata in Asia, so Aus too. |

Wazza,,as things stand now,,that is true...
But these are growing markets..Motor racing is a new concept to many..Manufacturers know this..I saw on the news last night that there is a motor show on in China at the moment..There is well over 100 manufacturers there..They all want a slice of the growing market that China represents..Even Rolls Royce and Bentley stands were there..
With the increase in car awareness,,so will come an in crease in motor racing..We have a population of 20 odd million...In China,,they would hope to have that number watching motorsport on TV..Look at the advertising exposure..India,is heading the same way..Bahrain has enough money to hire any entertainment they want..
There is a certain business sense in heading into those markets.. |

<It could make an interesting series,,with races in Australia,,India and China..China has already had a taste of V8 racing..>
Yes but there and in Barain no one came to watch. The only spectators were the pit crews and flag marshalls.
If we are to have any overseas events I would have thought apart from New Zealand it would bring more spectators in England and the US of A. |

You know,,this could be a blessing in disguise for V8 racing..
Both countries are new and enthusiastic followers of motor racing..
If Holden went to China,,there is enough sales there with the new rich to buy V8 Holdens..China would adopt Holden..
India is building a new F1 track,,to rival Chinas track..
India has new rich also,,which would help sustain V8 sales..Indians would adopt Ford..
It could make an interesting series,,with races in Australia,,India and China..China has already had a taste of V8 racing..
As long as we retain factories in Australia,,producing cars for our needs and wants,,and keeps our work force intact,,who gives a fugg who owns them.. |

Saw that article : Ford to Tata in old Bombay & Holden to Shanghai Motor Co.
Makes a bit of sense the yanks withdrawing to their own dung heap.
What about the Aussie taxpayer dollars?? |

Suggestion the problems of Ford Australias parent in the US will see them cash in the Aus operation in a sale to Indian company Tata ... the same mob who bought Jaguar.
Wont the redneck fans choke !!!!
Of course GM are in the same boat, but to a Chinese buyer. |
