On clay, JB's % of success is going to drop.
His flatter trajectory and less than strategically preferred decion making as far as shot shape and type is concerned, will always make it an uphill battle for him on clay.
He still hasn't come to grips with moving properly on a clay court either.
Very entertaining to watch when he's on tho... |

| As for JB my comment below says it. When those huge shots come off they are a joy to watch and mostly he gets them. This time the %age was against him. |

Skip..when you cut and paste you can delete the space before you post it. I always meant to say this to you. Just either go to the end and back space to the offending error or put the cursor there and delete it....simple. I have to do it all the time

I still reckon Nadal isn't 100%.
I've just seen that match with Starace again and a point here or there, it could have gone the other way - testament to how good even a wounded Nadal is.
He's got Murray tonite, now I've don't think much of Murray as a "big match" competitior, but if he gets his head right for this one and just stays out there for as long as he needs to, he could get it going his way.
Those bull Toes ain't fully fit yet. |

Saw most of the Safin-Berdych match last night - Safin was on fire, made some fantastic shots but can he keep it up into the next round? What is up with Berdych lately - hasn't he been sick or something?
As for Blake v PIW - I really though Blake had his number early on but unforunately he couldn't follow through. You could just feel the frustration coming from him.
I am hoping Rafa will have a better match next round - I am starting to get a bit anxious after last night's round.
"Shock... Horror.... the two princesses could meet in the QF fighting for the crown" - G. love this, maybe it will be a crown made of sparkly Strepsils.... |

I wish JB could change him game too. I don't think he has the capabilities to ever him a grand slam. Nothing against him but he has trouble with the big tournaments too. Just saw the replays on ATP for the Wednesday highlights from Hamburg and Tipsy just ran him all over the court in the point they showed. I didn't enjoy watching it.
Boy I am glad now that Roger fought off that virus at the Australian Open to knock our princesses sidekick out. He had to fight tooth and nail for that victory and when he won you could see how much it meant to him.
I have to give tipsy a bit of a rap. He is a pretty solid player it seems. |

Here's a report of last night:
http://au.sports.yahoo.com/tennis/news/article/-/3 347725
Rafa was hampered by lake of practice because of his blisters so it was a good win regardless for him.
I'm with you weekend....would love to see Priucess #3 kocked out #1.....maybe ND will retire so he has some strength for RG
Thanks for withholding the much wanted comments Kraavitz...such restraint on your part. It was the bettergame plan that won the day and credit to him |

| I wouldnt mind if the two princesses meet in the QF. As long as tipsy knocks Novak out. Although he would probably throw the match so Djokovic goes through to the semis |

Kiefer's just gotten rid of Wawrinka.
Some heavy hitting at the end of that second set -SW had a set pt on serve, but finished looking like he needs a break -
it was a big week last week!
Good to see Kiefer finding some consistency tho and good to hear the crowd getting into it.
Good atmosphere coming thru the surround sound, hehe. |

Yep, good thing that Tsonga had that 15-0 lead in game one as it seems to be the most he led so far (ok, I lie - he had 30-0 before being broken in the first game) until he lost the first set 2-6. Repeat of yesterday? I think not. Soderling playing some mean tennis lately.
Stan the "not so" man is done and dusted in straights by journeyman (gosh I love that tag), Kiefer.
Finally it's Roger time. Woooo! |

Expletives deleted....Bah and cra.p on the JB result. Well the Princess in Waiting survives for yet another round!
Looks like Tsonga is doing really well. As I write this, he is up 15-0 in the first game ;-)
Couple of interesting matches unfolding right now with Robredo and Karlovic in a third set tiebreak; Stan down a set and 4-4 in the second against Kiefer.
Was rapt to see Safin take out Berdych. Saw a part of that match and some pretty good tennis from both dudes. |

Well I guess the pretender to the throne played the better match. I just wish JB would change his game occasionally and not got for all those big shots hoping that they will win. still he is great to watch when is does.

Yes Skippiglet I do hope to get over to RG for a couple fo days. I am off to London for 2 weeks from work so I hope that I can pop over for a couple of days. I will certainly be logging into our family and see what you all are saying while I am gone |

Tonight should be fun. My only regret is that JB is not on centre court but we may get his match on replays tomorrow.
The two serbians. The Serbian Princess and the princess in wiating on Princess #3. |

skippiglet - agreed m8.
Gasquet looks like he doesn't want to be doing this atm.
He was awful in Rome losing to Horna 4 and 1.
Sad, so much talent. He can only get better from here. |

Hello, I'm Edward and new to this this board.
I Look forward to some fun and interesting tennis banter with like minded enthusiasts.
Did anyone catch the KOhlschreiber/Robredo match last night?
It was the Kohlschreiber show for a while there and he copped a rough line decision late in the second set which was poorly handled by the ump (Jerry Armsrtrong) - didnt help him out.
He is so entertaining to watch when he's on....
Cheers,
Ed |
