I hope Nadal gets what Federer did last year at Wimbledon. Although it nearly undone Roger. It will do Nadal the world of good. Fed had something like 5 days straight when he wasn't on court due to I think from memory Tommy Haas pulling out and the usual bucket load of rain in England. It wouldn't affect Nadal in a bad way. He comes out all guns blazing no matter what.

Saw a little quote someone had written on Nadal. Its true to every word.

"We're dealing with a guy with the muscles of superman, and the energy of mighty mouse."

I think that describes Rafa pretty well.

True weekend..... But after Hamburg he will have a good rest before RG starts on May 25 and he wont start for a few days after that I would guess. He said that the blisters are better he just needs some more practice...One can but hope he gets through it all both in HAmburg and moving on to RG.

Re:Roland Garros 2008 Reply to this message
uh, yeah I did, hence my point. Kuerten has played three matches this year without winning a set. One of the great clay-courters of all-time, once he had that hip injury it was all over.

And so shall it be for Hewitt, IMO.

I don't mind if he proves me wrong but I don't think Rafa can win at Roland Garros this year. He has to play 5 matches at Hamburg, if he makes the final, and to make the final at the French Open, another 7. They don't have much rest in between. Not good for someone with those blisters. I do hope they're gone. Any smart player would try and run him all over the court. Esp at Roland Garros as it is a best of 5 and will usually take 2 hours in a tough 3 set match. His feet must be killing him.

In fact let me make a quick correction to "At least Gustavo had the sense to retire" and state "At least Gustavo had the sense to ANNOUNCE his retirement"....

Master - as for hearing from Guga lately by way of playing tennis - yep, I saw his first round match at Monte Carlo against Ivan Ljubicic. Did you?

"Gustavo Kuerten had a similar hip injury to Hewitt's...has anyone heard from him lately????"

Masterofnone, have you just come out of hibernation given that you seem to have missed Guga's start to his well known retirement tour? Check it out at http://guga.com/

At least Gustavo had the sense to retire when he realised he could no longer compete at the top level, rather than make donkey-ar.sed statements that he could beat the best clay-court player of the past 3.5 years.

Can't believe Federererererer is only $4 to win RG, he should be double figures at least.

Finally the Roland Garros 2008 website up and running! You may already have seen this but here's the link anyway.

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/index.html

Some interesting articles already about changes at RG, as well as the usual about Roger (will he finally win this year?) to Rafa (will he be too fatigued to make it 4 in a row?). Also some articles about the girls...

Only time will tell and there's a lot that can happen in the next 18 days (yes, it's not that far off!)
