Luczak will definitely play singles for this tie. Guccione is even more useless on clay than he is on other surfaces.
Gonzalez and Massu will probably play both singles and then the doubles together too. It's not quite as difficult as Serbia in Serbia, but it's not far off. |

welcome back whats doing.
Yep Australia has drawn the worst possible clash for the play offs.
At least Luzak is getting some clay courts matches as he's through to the second round in Houston |

| Based on their players records on clay, it won't even need to be a slow one. |

| Australia has to play Chile in the next round of Davis Cup. The tie will be played in Chile, and Chile has choice of court surface. |

| All that talk earlier hear about Tsongs been the #1 French player and not Gasquet who is. I see today Tsonga is down to 15 now and is in danger of falling further this week as well. He is equal 15 with two others one whom is Playing this week (Monaco #2 seed in Valencia). Also Robredo is playing so that means Tsonga might fall even further. He still has alot to prove before anyone can even begin to think of him as Frances #1 player |

I like this quote of Andy
"Nadal has won a couple clay court matches since then" (referring to 2004)
Bit of an understatement
And this one from the same article .... "I still have a lot to prove on clay" - Rodd/ick
Hmm, yes
I'm sure that little gremlin ZB is out to dinner as we speak and will surely log on shortly to give us the benefit of his discoveries from the 'inside' world of tennis. Maybe he's been living in California too long - his comments are a bit like that reputable weekly rag, 'The National Enquirer' - completely unfounded and his sources are probably aliens from the planet Roid! |

yep it will be fun skippiglet. It si good friendly rivalry...Who evewr win I know the other will be pleased.
Having just read that article quote AR and his feelings about Clay. Wonder what ZB will make of that. It is contary to everything he says about him on clay. Guess he knows better than the player or maybe he's haveing too many dinner dates with that mysterious informant of his.
this is the good thing that the reast of us share...we all have our favorites but still appreciate each others wins or losses |

Methinks the spaniards will probably opt for clay to give them the best possible advantage. There is an article on the Daviscup website about this upcoming semifinal
http://www.daviscup.com/news/newsarticle.asp?artic leid=14605
Grysydney - we will have our favourites playing off against each other - I look forward to the exciting discussions we'll no doubt have in September. May the best man win - ole! |

| Well the US team may have different thoughts than you. I dont know what surfce the matches will be played on in September but I guess it will be clay. The Bryans had great success on clay last year winning Monte Carlo,Hanburg and Madrid. My gues is that the tie will go all the way to the fifth game |

| i would name Tsonga as the French no. 1 at the moment considering Gasquet has been in poor form the whole year. Shame Tsonga was injured and could not play in the tie, he would have made it much more interesting. Either way Spain is almost definitely going to make the final. |

Just read the post match report of the US matches. I think JB's quote here sums up the tru meaning of Davis Cup
And to have that ring just, again, solidifies it, to know we accomplished something that we all set out to do. We didn't do it on our own. We did it with a team. We did it with a captain. We did it with a support staff. And it means so much to all of them. And to be a player, I feel so honored to have that. |

Well of course you must be most people then ZB. The French Federation which I am sure is more of an authority than you states:
Richard Gasquet retains the lead in the national hierarchy for the third consecutive year
Tsonga hasn't had results since the Aust Open to prove anything. Out first round Mar/selle
Out R 16 Indian Wells and out round 32 Miami. Gasquet is still #1 player for France. |

As a PS. RTP ranking point are everything to players. The race doesn't come into effect till the Master cup final. To get rnakign under 16 for most the of tournament means they get seeded..and for GS the top 32. This means everything to players. and no this isn't my statemnt it is players statement.
I siad I was going to ig nore you ecept wheny ouo make stupid commenst. If you can't refrain go to you own threads. Ocassionally you make a sensible comment then you nulify that by stupid ones |
