Re:IS JAMES BLAKE WASHED UP? Reply to this message
Nadal's problem is the way he plays .It's nothing to do with the ATP schedule.Blake was whinging about how tough things were on himself and Nadal. He was just trying to make up a big excuse for being a big loser.

Re:IS JAMES BLAKE WASHED UP? Reply to this message
So true nicolina

The problem is his team are focused on keeping his ranking despite his performance.

It is easy for him to play less tournaments, but not as easy for him to keep his ranking if he skips tournaments here and there.

The fact is it is a competitive arena. Federer is able to keep going with a minimum amount of injury or fatigue. Fed did say fatigue at the end of last year was a factor in his subpar masters series performance, and this was probably warranted.

But Blake knows if he takes a step back, that many many others would be more than happy to fill the void. Many of these players are playing to survive, financially and goalwise they will play on as far as they are driven to go.

So it sounds a little ingenuous. If her were to play better his efforts might reap more money and ranking points. The fact is he isn't and probably can't

Unfortunately for Blake, and fortunately for others more driven...

NEXT!...

hello...

Blake played well to reach the finals of queens.. I felt so sure in fact i typed it here on this very messagebord that JB (and Murray) was going to do well at Wimbledon.

We now can agree he left his best tennis at the Queens tournament and then complains of playing too much?!

If he's really feeling over-tennised then why does he just not cut back on his schedule?

ZB as you have a great problem with selective reading here is the full press conference and there is not ONE word where he blames the schedule:

Re:IS JAMES BLAKE WASHED UP? Reply to this message
when are u going to ever accept that Blake's an underacheiver in the Grand Slams? He's more of a Davis cup player and has won pivotal matches in this atmosphere. Losing a first round at Wimbly is a f...... disgrace for a guy who was a finalist at Queens 2 days ago. Get with it grsydney!!!!

Re:IS JAMES BLAKE WASHED UP? Reply to this message
If you bother to read the full article and listen to the press conference He was referring to the schdule's effect on players like Nadal and how tough it is. He was not been speciific to himself.

Sure he lost a match..He will regourp and get ready for the Hardcourt seson in the US after he finishes his doubles committments with Mardy Fish

Are you sure he wasn't complaining about the scheduling of the European poker tour? After years on the ATP tour he is a bit of a mean card player apparently.

Match Reports
Blake attacks Tour after crashing out.Good old James Blake attacks the tour schedule as being too arduous for him. This is the guy who hasn't made it past the 3rd round in 15 out of 18 tournaments this year. You would have thought he's had plenty of rest.

Re:IS JAMES BLAKE WASHED UP? Reply to this message
hello...

i just read an online article relating to James Blake early departure where he's blaming the scheduling of ATP tour and that there is too many tournaments, etc.

This beckons a question: Why bother to play in so many then.

James, who was a runner up last week at Queens, gets a good Wimbledon draw then blows it by losing to some player I never even heard of. At least he should have won the 3rd set when he was up 5-1 in the Tiebreaker.

Such hatred of a player is not good. Grow up little man. No mouth wash was need as Blake WON comfortably and is in the semis.
