bearyfolk you're a Legend.

You just reminded me that the saint Pat Rafter once did have an outburst back in 1994 Wimbledon Court one battle against Serge Brugera and in the fifth set, yelled out the F-word.

I think part of the problem why some folks intensly loathe Hewitt might be due to his yelling COME ON's and in your face attitude that Lleyton used to display.

It'll be interesting to see what the nature of his hip problem is after he's rested and sought medical opinion.

Continuing-
Goes to show how consistanly he does play, when he plays. In todays game, if you aren't playing consistatly you drop real quick.
Lleyton was on the top of mens tennis for two years. Then Roger came along and took over. Now Roger is being challenged for top spot. This happens, always has, always will, its the game evolving.

Yes, I am a Lleyton supporter. I can see both his faults and his good points. He does not deserve all the negative treatment that he gets in this country.

Ok I can't stay out of this one anymore. I'd like to make a few points in Lleyton's defence.

1. Stats I'm with you on the injury situation. It is possible to play with an injury and not show any sign of it. I have done it myself. I tore the muscles in my shoulder during my first service game of a match and continued to play on without (hopefully) showing my opponents how much pain I was in.
Lleyton did say that if it wasn't Wimbledon he wouldn't have played and that he only played the French to try and get some match fitness.

2. The poor behaviour of Lleyton, and yes I agree there have been some beauties, mostly happened years ago when he was still in his teens, and in the heat of battle. Who of us can say that we have never said or done something in the heat of the moment that we later regret. I know I can't. Even the great Pat Rafter had an absolutely terrible temper on the court in his younger days.
Also have you noted how the press like to ask questions that inflame a situation or put words in their mouths? An example of this is todays interview with Roger. How many times was he asked about bad light effecting his game.

3. So Lleyton and Bec sell stories of their life to magazines. Why shouldn't they? I do remember in the begining of their relationship they said that they would sell stories to the media in the hope that it would give them some peace and not be hounded day and night. Again I ask, are they the only ones that do this? No, pretty much every celebrity, sporting or otherwise, does the same thing. Could there be any better example of this that the farce of the Norman/Everett marriage the other weekend.

4. Lleyton's game. Yep he's not playing as well as he used to. IMO he hasn't played his best since he was struck down with chicken pox a couple of years ago. Considering the amount of tournaments he's missed over the past couple of years, he's doing really well to still be ranked as highly as he is.

And I didn't say that we are friends, just that I have been able to meet them a few times due to catering for functions they have held, be it small family ones, through to large corporate functions held at the small abode. So yes I do have his/her mobile numbers and they have mine. But I have no use for them now as I sold the business, so no i dare say we will never speak again or meet.

Re:Lleyton Hewitt's run back to the top ... Reply to this message
actually gr it is relevant to what is being said maliciously about Lleyton and his on again off again hip issue. I am saying that I too have had these issues and unless you have had a very serious affliction it is hard to understand how you can feel it sometimes and at others not. Please read again and will see what I am talking about. Today I have felt no pain at all, however I have no doubt that sometime tomoorow I will develop a limp, it isn't intentional, just happens when the pain gets a little too much to bear, then I recognise I am doing it and re-focus my attention and get rid of it.

I have people pull me up on it all the time the same way it is happenening in here.

Friends say...wow you like you are over that injury (it will never get any better by the way so that is impossible), and the next day they will say...."bunging it on a little aren't you?, where was the limp yesterday", etc etc and on it goes. It is normal! That is what I am getting at....NORMAL!

rtesta. We have been waiting for a statement from the Hewitt camp from day one of this latest incident As I said NOTHING on the web site at all. OIn the meantime people will speculate until someone comes out and says what is going on.

As for you comments Statsy. I dont know where to beging. First of all we get all your medical history which is of no relevance at all. Now we get how you have met L&B. Big deal. The public sees what they see and read what they read. IF you know him so well maybe ytou should advise him to get something up on his website to stop these stories and comments.

Until then he is open game for them

hey kraavitz,

in response to your earlier posts, i generally speaking, don't read the papers/magazines and also quotes from players and reports on the internet. I prefer seeing players press conferences and reaching my own conclusions from there.

OK i will consider your theory that Hewitt's hip injury is a fake in order to use it as an excuse.
But first can we give the Hewitt camp two weeks to see if there's
some kind of announcent asto the nature of his hip issue and
if it needs an operation?

By the way...none of this is written maliciously, i just wanted to get my point accross. I don't believe that anyone here is white trash etc, just that this is who these mags are aimed at....and most of the celebrity media in general.

All I want to say is: Say what you like about people, but let's try to keep it factual and not full of accusations that have no basis, or factual content. Most of what i read is speculation and guess work. And until you really know what is going on in someones life, it is hard to judge them.

When many were calling George Gregan selfish for staying in the Australian team and not letting younger players get a go, he had taken in the Kearns 4 kids (just after Phil had hit his daughter and he and his wife were in the hospital for two weeks), he had also taken in another families kids because they were helping out at the hospital. So in total they had 11 kids at their house that they were feeding, dressing, washing, careing for, putting to bed every night etc. NO-ONE ever found out about this, we are close to the Kearns so knew this was happening, and my wife cooked several massive lasagnas and other foods to help out at the Gregans home. yet people were calling him a selfish person......RUBBISH.

Re:Lleyton Hewitt's run back to the top ... Reply to this message
That's not true at all.......It is when it is a personal attack such as this article and many posts on here. Most of the rubbish on here is of a personal nature or opinion. Say what you like about anyone on here I couldn't care, but let's keep out the trolling posts that are designed to bring up a response.

And really who cares about the off court stuff, it is meant for white trash magazine readers and the mindless. If you fit into those categories then go forth and read, just don't multiply into the gene pool. If you don't fit into that, then stop believing all the rubbish and when you actually meet the people you are trying to bring down.....then you can make an educated opinion, not a media based opinion.

I have had the opportunity to meet Lleyton and Bec several times through one of my previous business' in the Northern side of Sydney. I have even been to their home a few times (I had a catering company on the North Shore) and therefore yes I do dislike people writing needless negative and stupid comments.

So lets move on, and if you ever meet him then make up your mind. There are many things that sports people and other "stars" do that the media never see, luckily I have been able to see several of these things from Hewitts and other people. I don't judge their lives! Neither should you.
