| Looks good for the rest of the year though - he has no points to defend as he stopped playing to have his hip operation so any wins will be a bonus. |

| Hewitt should be able to jump around 10 places after Wimbledon. Shame that he wasn't able to beat Roddick to get up into the mid to early 30's |

oh hahahaha I know I got that result wrong.
Hewitt once again comes from behind to win in 5.
Those 2 guys Roddick and Hewit were arch rivals a few years ago weren't they?! |

hello...the Round 16 Hewitt-Stepanek match is something worth looking forward to as they are very exhuberent "in your face" characters.
It will be great if Hewitt gets through and meets Andy Roddick. |

Another comfortable win for Hewitt today. Plays Stepanek on Monday night for a spot in the quarters.
Just checked his activity last year - he has literally NO points to defend after Wimbledon. The only event he played last year after Wimbledon was the Olympics.
It's a big 'if', but IF he stays fit, the title of this thread might not look so irrelevant. |

Grs, you have got to be kidding... not sure where you're getting this from. Roddick was not hungover -
"While the American's supposed night of drinking was nothing more than a night out in London to see the film 'The Hangover'"

me too Nico
Del Potro has a great future.
Hewitt has a heart of gold and it still shows.
Wish him all the best for the rest of the tournament.. |

| Normally I would have thought Roddick would beat Hewitt. However, reading today, and admitted to by Roddick, he turned up for his first match hung over from a night out drinking. Hardly the behaviour of someone that expects us to take him seriously. Go Hewitt but I think Murray will take you down that is assuming that they both get that far. Anything can happen at Wimbledon |

Maybe, but it was good enough at Queens...
They always have tough matches, because their styles are so different. I hope the match happens, it'd be a barnburner. |

| I'd give Hewitt a good chance of beating Roddick - the man is a one-trick pony, and that trick isn't that decisive against Lleyton. Murray will be a big challenge. |

I think Roddick in the quarters, Murray in the semis, Federer in the final, assuming the seeds win through (and so far they all have, almost without exception).
He really should make the quarters without too much trouble. Roddick will be tough, Murray tougher. |

David Ferrer perhaps?!
Ordinarily a good baseline player but not on grass.
But then, the grasscourts this year are said to be a lot slower than they were last year. So you can never tell. |

Who is he likely to meet in the quarters (if he gets there?). I see no reason why he can't beat most players - only really a match against Federer would I consider Lleyton not having a chance with.
He is as gutsy as they come, and a guy like Lleyton should never be written off. |

oh come on M.O.N
At times Juan del Potro looked like a Mug out there against Hewitt. Wonder if they even have any grasscourts in his country. |

Yes, I over-estimated Del Potro's grass court expertise. I just thought with the big serve and groundies, he would outhit Lleyton, but Hewitt counter-punched very well.
Hewitt is certainly in good enough form to make the quarters here. |

hello...
So good that Hewitt won because too many critics would have been on his case and writing he should retire.
Del Potro is going to recover from this and will be a better player on grass next year, I think so. |

| Hewitt did as you suggested but the results were not what you expected - victory over a top 5 player - a reason for his "c'mon!" this time. Interesting too that del Potro has so much respect for Hewitt, unlike some posters here. |

Should be a great match. Hewitt should use the backhand slice a lot, keep it low and make Del Potro generate the pace.
Expect JMDP to win, but it'll be worth watching. |
