hello...
I think Lleyton should continue to play if he feels he can still win big time and that only he will know when it's time to retire from playing. |

| I believe that Hewitt’s attitude was a bit to be desired when he was a teen but he we was a teen. You cannot say that he has not changed. A father of 2 has definitely changed his attitude but not his spirit. But then again this little problem we have in Australia called Tall Poppy Syndrome is still strong and thriving. We are all experts aren’t we? |

| Bet there are quite a few players who wouldn't mind being a "has-been" and only number 20 in the world rankings. He has always, and still is, making the most of the potential he has - plus he seldom refuses a request to play Davis Cup, even when carrying an injury. Lay off and find someone else to trash. |

Up 2 spots to 20 in the latest rankings.
Back into the top 20, after being ranked 108 in February, pretty impressive effort. |

| The one thing you can say for Hewitt is that he gives everything for his country!!! I'm sure that when he is playing for his country ,(in either the Davis cup or the Aust.Open), he ALWAYS gives it all he has got!! If he never wins an AO (which I hope is not the case) it will definately NOT be because he didnt try!!! |

I don't really care for Hewit his attitude kind of sucks. It's one thing to be confident, but not only is confident but he is over confident and arrogant as well.
He should really use some of that to try an win the Australian Open for his Country. The Australian fans deserve it. |

| Up one spot to 22 in latest rankings, but probably won't play again until Hopman Cup. |

What a load of rubbish - Lleyton has the double whammy against him - he is recovering from hip surgery plus other players have emerged who are taller/stronger/younger/j ust as fit. Mental attitude and desire to win can only do so much.
ahe has made a great effort just to get his ranking into the 20's again. |

Second set was very close, Hewitt dropped serve to lose it. Led 2-0 in the third set too.
Probably will not make the top 16 by year end as he is talking about skipping Paris to come home and prepare for the Aus Open, which might be a smart move anyway. |

MON. I think it is now very doubtful thta he will get to the top 16 for better seeding at the AO. The last set was anythign bnu close:
"Hewitt lost six straight games in the deciding set in a 4-6 6-4 6-2 loss to the No.11 seed Gael Monfils from France in Shanghai. "
Monfils outplayed him completely in eh 2/3 sets.
Good to have the fighter back but....... |

Narrow loss to Monfils 4-6 6-4 6-2. Another frustrating match where he failed to take opportunities and played poorly when in front.
Going to be tough to get enough points to make that top 16 now... |

Will be seeded - his aim should be to get his ranking into the top 16 before Melbourne, that would give him three rounds before he would have to play the likes of Federer, Nadal etc
No points to defend until mid-January, he'll need to string some wins together before the end of the year, but it is possible. |

| Good on Hewitt! He has done a fantastic job in the last year in his return up the rankings. Should be seeded for the Australian Open now? |

Easily defeated Isner 6-2 6-4 in the first round at the Shanghai Masters. Went up three spots to 23 in the rankings after semi-final finish at Tokyo last week.
And, gave Geoff Pollard a well-overdue spray. Wins all round for Lleyton this week. |

| I think Lleyton is doing really well considering he doesn't have the huge game that some players possess though I'm pretty sure the he is returning the ball harder and serving harder than he has in the past...I admire his determination and his running ability. |
