| And once again on the last point of the tie breaker with his service ace. Andy said I saw out and so did Del Potro but Hawkeye showed it in and that gave him the match. |

A nice show of sportmanship from Del Potro during the Gonzalez match...
"In the second game of their second set, Gonzalez fell trying to turn quickly and stayed on the ground until Del Potro climbed over the net to help him up" |

| A measure of the character of Del Potro can be gauged by his post match comment about Hewitt."He played a very good match," the Argentine told reporters. "He's one of my idols. I said to him you're in very good shape again, so I'm happy for you and good luck." |

"for some reason" - lol
all hewitt had to do was keep his cool and return serve well, keep his returns low, slice his backhand more and and back his passes against net rushing.
Hewitt is strong in these areas so it isn't all that surprising really. |

| Del Potro looked a bit flat for some reason but you have to hand it to Hewitt. He played well. |

Once again Del Potro dogs it when the going gets tough. He does it to often for my liking. He is very good against weaker opponents or when everything is going good, but can't handle it in the kitchen when the heat is on.So in reply to the Post. Not very,I'd say.
Great night for Aussie tennis.
Cheers Dave. |

| He certainly is not as erratic as the Poo and even Roddick at a younger age.He will have learnt big time about pacing himself after his semi-final collapse against Federer at the French Open. |

He has a lot of promise. But, like the Poo and Roddick, he need the heart/brain to go with the body.
If he can think his way through games and fight, he will do well. If not, he'll be yet another big guy who can bully his way through the early rounds, but with no real chance of matching it with the best at the pointy end of the draw.
I do hope he can though, what I've seen of him so far has been good. |

| He's 20 years old ,6ft 6ins tall and he has a sly grin.He has all the shots plus some big time power. He moves pretty quickly for a tall guy and is not too shabby at the net.I've been watching this guy since early last year when he had victories of Andy Roddick,Viktor Troicki and Richard Gasquet. He made it to the quarters of the 2008 U.S Open, reached the quarters of the 2009 Australian Open and then goes down very narrowly to Roger Federer in the semis of the 2009 French Open. This guy is improving at a rapid rate of knots.Does not have a lot of mileage on grass but definitely has the game for it.He is like Mark Philippoussis on steroids.Look out! |
