| Watching last night convinced me that he is every bit as good as he was a few years ago. The guy is a freak - and his post match interview last night was freakin hilarious, I never realised how quick his wit is. He has a great sense of humour. Andy Murray will give him a great challenge in the final, it could go either way - but he needs to be 100% on his game and pulling out those freak shots. |

| Most of the players play his name: 'Federer' (aka the supposed greatest tennis player of all time), not the actual person. Many can beat him if they put their minds to it. He's not as good as what he used to be. |

| The Federer juggernaut rolls on.God I can't stand that guy.Unfortunately there are not enough contenders with the physical/mental attributes and big match experience to challenge him.Of all the Slam finals Federer has been involved in Nadal and Roddick have featured in nearly half of them.No other players have been able to conjure repeat appearances in Slam finals apart from those three.Most new elite players take 2 or 3 Slam finals before they win one.Apart from Nadal and Roddick no one is accumulating the Slam finals mental toughness to be able to match Federer's greatest strength which is his ability to pace himself for up to 5 sets.He brings the game he needs to win against each particular opponent,nothing more nothing less.The only player who has had extended success against him is Nadal who for some reason intimidates Federer.Until Murray can keep it together in the big moments of a Slam final he won't win a thing. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It is great for women's tennis that someone with the talent and tenacity of Justine Henin is back competing at the highest level.I have never been a fan of hers but given the alternatives like Ivanovic,Jankovic and all the Russian chokers it's nice to watch someone with composure.A Henin/Williams final is probably about as good as it gets because there are no chokers involved here.I honestly can't pick a winner which has to be good for tennis. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| So Murray is in a long overdue Slam final again,at least in his opinion.This has been a tournament where the pretenders have been found out and the contenders have had their ranks thinned by injury and aliments.Par for the course I guess.Cilic will take his rightful place in the top 10.Verdasco,Ferrer,Blake, Hewitt are not top ten players anymore.Roddick proved he is still a great player despite carrying an injury.Del Potro needs to get himself right so he doesn't get injured constantly and then he will contend again I'm sure.
