Hello Zaar
There are no restrictions other than common sense...
How long do you consider yourself to be a newbie..
I was a newbie for about a month late last year
But I am not still claiming to be... How long does it take..
......I enjoy reading your posts......
so do I..
but the newbie stuff has to end somewhere after seven months doesnt it? |

grsdyney you fool - Why don't you say what you REALLY feel?
It's apparent you have the hots for James Blake.
So he's the 2nd highest ranked player in the US after Roddick big faaaarking deal. I can tell you that he's not news material outside of the US. Finally I suppose the fact that he's black in a predominately white sport makes him stand out from the pack. |

Are there restrictions to posting on these boards? Do 'newbies' have to go through a probationary period before they can voice their opinions?
That would mean I'm a newbie too. Oh dear.
Nic, as one newbie to another, I enjoy reading your posts.
As for Blake (title of this thread), he's probably got a couple of seasons left in him. He has been disappointing recently but maybe he will improve over the next couple of months. |

Hello - You can believe what you like.
If I may I want to talk about tennis.
I get the feeling being a newbie, that is not
always possible on this messageboard.
Shame isn't it! |

nicolia - relax girl. Noone is accusing you of copying quotes. BTW I agree with others re your post is accurate summary of where Blake's career is at right now.
The U.S. season could well be the turning point as he loves and thrives playing in his native U.S. and especially at the U.S. Open (albeit he couldn't be feeling very confident at this time based on the davis cup and wimbly defeats, but comebacks have and do happen in tennis).
Did you manage to find copy of the HISTORY OF TENNIS by Bud Collins I explained to you about some weeks ago? |

| Ni nic. Good to have some positive comments about James instead of the negativity from some. Sure he has had a bad run but all players go through that. He isn't playing anything till Washington now early August so I guess is having a break before the hardcourt evnts leading up to the US OPen. So far he is palyign in Washington and the two Masters in Canada and Cincinatti |

And I don't think you are a plagiarist either Nicolina. Your post shows you are well informed.
I was a bit surprised though at pong's comment "Why do I get the feeling you are quoting from something you have read".
Just because a post is well written doesn't mean it has been copied! |

hello..
I'm not plagiarist. I am well versed with Blake's off the court misfortunes as i have a big interest in the game and monthly subscriptions with TENNIS Australia magazine.
Finally it is going to be interesting to see whether James fortunes will change as he is now on home soil and has a respectable record at flushing meadows - 2 time quarterfinalist. |

"Ignoring most of what went on between thanks Nic and Peen for your comments. He has a lot to be proud of and what he has achieved. As for the money he has earned ZB yes he has earned alot throuogh guts and hard work and what is more a great percentage of what he has earned has gone to his two charities.
It is not just Americans that are proud of what he has done then are many fans all over the world. Thankfully he doens't rely on negative support from people like ZB and Twisted.
As I have said before go find someone else to pick on"

"nicolina
you have asked simple questions recently
You have also claimed to be a newbie
However, you have come up with a really well constructed post..
Why do I get the feeling you are quoting from something you have read...
if not
you are not a newbie...
I quoted all his hardships many months ago but nobody responded. He has been through a lot but people didnt appear to take that into consideration.
He could do modelling thats for sure, without needing to serve another ball in his life...
I hope in the near future, he will prove to be worthy of our support"
Now I've seen it all!!!!
Nicolina, looks like the pong thinks you're a fraud!!!! |

| Anyone that knows anything knows Blake's history of misfortune and life's hard knocks. That's the way it is.He's made millions from being an almost man.I don't have any feelings about as a person one way or another. As a player he sucks. |

hello...
I think many people would be aware of the personal hardship Blake has had over the last several years has been really inspirational. He overcame childhood scoliosis and was just about to reach his potential in the world of professional tennis when he broke his neck, was diagnosed with shingles and the death of his father. But he came back , proved he was a real force in tennis, won 10 ATP Tour titles including 1 ATP 500 at the Legg Mason in D.C. and became the number 1 American , ahead of former world #1 Andy Roddick.
His dedication to the sport (and davis cup) on the court cannot be dsiputed.
It's been almost three years since Blake reached his career high #4 ranking after making it to the finals at the Tennis Masters Cup. Since then he's more or less stayed within a stone's throw of the top ten.
It's strange, in a way, for all intents and purposes, Blake game should have yielded more success at the Slams, than what he has actually acheived. He's got raw power, a great serve when it's working, and a solid forehand. He's played and been in memorabale matches against Nadal and Andre Agassi and won titles at several top-tier tournaments.
Having said that. I have to agree with mr.vince that perhaps Blake now has reached the crossroads and the two losses at the Davis cup hot on the heels of his first round exits at Wimbledon and the French is further evidence.
Let's see how he fares at the US hardcourt season and USO before you bury him...
I also agree with others that it is for Blake to decide when he should retire.
The tennis world, especially the American fans of the sport, are waiting for Blake to either win a major or cement himself in the category of great mulit-Slam players who need to walk off a champion in Melbourne, Paris, London, or New York: the ultimate proving grounds of superiority in pro tennis. |
