hi peen,
Now did you watch the second set tiebreak won by Hewitt against Roddick. Really quite amazing. Thought at first Roddick would win this in straight sets but right now It's hard to tell.
Great to see an Aussie against a Yank battling it out on neutral territory at Wimbledon after a number of years!!! |

take control Zed for goodness sakes...
Fed's still there but then so are Andy M and Andy R and right now both appear to be cruising into the semis - now that's two reasons to be cheerful and optimistic. |

Soory I missed your pathetic comment below:
Blake had to play doubles so he could afford the air fare back to the States.
He is not going back to the staes he is going to Croatia to play singles in the Davis Cup |

well you are all alone in that ZB. Keep your hatred to yourself and dstop spreading your venom around.
Maybe you just like getting egg all over your face.
And yes Blake and Mardy won again and are into the semis. Wonder why you made no vile comment about that result |

| Blake had to play doubles so he could afford the air fare back to the States. As for Federer I would tip anyone against him.Hass was ahead 2 sets to love but has just lost the 3rd.I tipped Haas to beat Djokovic and I was serious about that.Roddick will beat Hewitt and we will see if what happens if Murray wins. |

yes but I want Murray to win the whole thing...tsk tsk.
I'm no Pom but I think it's about time an Englishman/Scottsman won. Imagine what this would mean for the whole of Great Britian. Whatever happens Muzza is going to put the English crowds through some rollercoaster on the basis he runs hot and cold (i.e. as he did versus Wawrinka).
GO MUZZA...
GO MUZZA...
I'll say it again !!!
GO MUZZA... |

game set match to Federer, 6-3,7-5,7-6. Too bad Zedhead...
nicola,
Your comments are very valid but i am not so sure it is merely the doing of the All England Club. I feel it is more about the television networks (such as the BBC in England) applying pressure to the tournament director who goes on centre court because at the end of the day it's television ratings are crucial and therefore a lot is a stake. Whether U.S. networks are behind this "pressure" also is another matter. Wouldn't surprise me if they were.
Elena Dementieva is extremely pretty as is Maria Kirelenko, and there's Caroline Wozniaki (with the lovely smile that can warm up many a males...err...hearts).
But aside from that one match with Caroline and Maria these girls have not been repeatedly playing on centre court. So really this sounds like a bunch of hype to me. |

Hello...

Re: Babe, Set & Match article
This is a disgraceful example of sexism, and also another illustration of how society seems only able to cope with an 'acceptable' version of femininity based on narrow perceptions of beauty .
It also highlights a shocking attitude to the serious nature of women's tennis.
Why should certain women players who have spent all the time on training and improving on their physical shape and the dedication necessary to succeed be treated as second rate citizens?
As a tennis fan I say shame on the pwers that be and those in charge for propagating such sexist attitudes. |

He had a great personality too. Gotta love these quotes...
"I still break rackets, but now I do it in a positive way."
"Today's players, they do not know how. If you are going to throw it, you break it. You have to show commitment." (on throwing rackets)
"I think it's interesting, you have three movies in one match: horror, comedy, drama. It's fun. I enjoy it. I am like that. I don't like to change. And if I could choose, I would be the same again. Just me, and I like who I am." |

| Goran was much more fun to watch though - specially when the "evil" Goran (his words) was in charge, never dull when Goran played. |
