He would also have finals (Amateur,Pro and Open)
22 out of 23
27 out of 29 or
28 out of 31 - whichever you think is better. |

Going by this it suggests that (if you were to include Laver achievements in the pro circuit - before the open era) he would have 18 slam titles and 2 grand slams with his longest "major tournament" finals streak being 15 in a row and his second longest "major tournament" finals streak being 7.
Federer's best slam finals streak is currently 10 and his second longest slam finals streak is 6*. |

I'll repost these links here as this is probably an equally fitting place to post them.
If you actually were to visit the links you can see why laver and borg were considered so great
Federer is greater (as slams are not necessarily the best comparison) but he does have a worthy opponent for GOAT in Laver.

| As Laver is the guest of honour at Wimbledon this year I would imagine that he is the one who will present the trophy to the winner. If it is Roger, which I hope, then the trophy and presentation is to the winner of the 2009 championships. It is not a prersentation to someone ,if it is Roger, that happens to have won 13 Grand Slams and including 5 Wimbledon totales excludeing today hopefully. The same number that Borg won by the way and he is also at Wimbledon now. |

there's rumours that Pete will be there for the Mens final.
If true I wonder if he will play a part in the presentations. He deserves to. |

| don't lose sight of the fact that Tennis was once known as Lawn Tennis, hence the predominate surface being grass. |

Trust you ZB to find an arguement. It is just like Laver's Grand Slam winns and 75%^ on GRAss not different surfaces.
In an interview yesterday he said just that fact. He said things were different then. He doubted if he would have lasted the distance. |

How fascinating...
Hey airhead - you should be aware that there were fewer female tennis players in that era. |

I'm just going to cut & paste my opinion on someone who needs to be consider in the talk of the greatest of all time. We need to stop thinking that men only should be regarded as the greatest because all the individual can do is play against their opponents of the day, not their fault people look at womens competition is of lower standard -
Helen Wills Moody won 31 Grand Slam titles (singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles) during her career, including seven singles titles at the U.S. Championships, eight singles titles at Wimbledon, and four singles titles at the French Championships. Excluding her defaults at the French Championships and Wimbledon in 1926, she reached at least the final of each Grand Slam singles event she played during her career.
Wills also won two Olympic gold medals in Paris in 1924 (singles and doubles), the last year that tennis was an Olympic sport until 1988. Wills was the U.S. girls' singles champion in 1921 and 1922. She won her first women's national title at the age of 17 in 1923, making her the youngest champion at that time. From 1919 through 1938, she amassed a 398–35 (0.919) match record, including a winning streak of at least 158 matches, during which she did not lose a set. She was a member of the U.S. Wightman Cup team in 1923, 1924, 1925, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932, and 1938.

Has anyone come close to a record like that since? |
