"Nadal? Great player, but his body is already breaking down."
My friend. I was thinking the same thing recently but
stopped short of saying/typing it. There's some here diehard Nadal fans that will want to shoot you down in flames. |

Good point, but that just makes Federer even more freakish, no?
If anyone breaks Federer's record in the next twenty years, I'll walk to Sydney naked. |

| When Sampras retired in 2002 with a record 14 Slams no one would have thought that someone who had not won a Slam at that time would equal it within 7 years. All records are made to be broken and usually sooner than you think. |

surpassed by whom?
Nadal? Great player, but his body is already breaking down.
Other active players and the number of Slams they have won:
Safin 2
Hewitt 2
Djokovic 1
Roddick 1
Gaudio 1
anyone I've missed? oh yeah...
FEDERER 14
Hate Federer all you want, but don't talk rubbish. His record isn't getting passed "in the next few years", by anyone. |

| That's great buddy,a real comment. That's all it takes to compete. It is often said that the person who manages to achieve something unique, great, never been done before in their chosen field is the greatest in history.Rod Laver won the Grand Slam twice.once as an amateur and once as a professional. No one will ever do that again.Federer might get to own the most Slams but he will be surpassed in the next few years. It is nice to see you making a real comment ru tetoi.I am not such a bad person but I react to name calling .And I am good at retaliating. |

| Federer is thinking that winning Wimbledon and owning 15 Slams will make him the greatest.Dan Maskell, John Barrett, Joe McCauley,[14] Ted Schroeder, and Tony Trabert rank Laver as the best of all time. Schroeder has been quoted by Alan Trengove as saying, "You take all the criteria - longevity, playing on grass and clay, amateur, professional, his behaviour, his appearance - in all criteria, Laver's the best player of all time." Trabert said in January 2008, "I still maintain that Rod Laver is the best player who ever played the game because he's done something no one has ever done in the 120 or 140-year history of our sport: he won the Grand Slam as an amateur and he won the Grand Slam as a pro. If someone in some other sport held a world record no one else had, you would say that person was the best in that sport. So in my view, you've got to say Laver is the best player of all time." |

Zed,
Think we better clean up the mess in our own backyard before commenting on another team. Fortunately we got rid of that dik of a CEO and hopefully we can move forward from now on. |

Now, let's fight semantics! :)
If you wrote a book about the greatest players ever, Federer would get a chapter or 2 - ok?
Federer - greatest Swiss player ever.
Laver - greatest Aussie player ever. |

I agree with the title of this thread that Federer is not the greatest.
What do you think? |
