Regarding the '09 USO Mens final. As well as Juan Martin del Potro played, and he was incredibly good in the last three sets (excluding the choke near the end of third set),let's be honest, Federer lost it more than Del Potro won (a player that Roger has never lost to before, dont forget).
Roger got cute after he led a break in the second set and served for it at 5-4. Too many drop shots aimed at toying with the big Argentine and his mobility, especially where he was drawing him inside the baseline.
The last time Federer lost a grand slam match when he was in a winning position was against Safin at the 2005 Aussie Open (during the fourth set tiebreak). |

| Roddick has said plenty worse than what Federer did. I never go for Federer. Why should I? It's much more fun to go for his challenger. I know Federer is a genius. However, I'd like to have seen him perform back in the day when they had little wooden rackets. Federer thinks it's his birthright to win every grand slam. It's not. Someone on the other side of the net is always going to have other ideas and strengths. Personally I think Federer will be on the tour for many more years. I look forward to the challengers that beat him. |
