| In the U.S the word in the press is he will not play Wimbledon. There is deep concern over the knee because they do not know what is wrong with it.He has been having issues with it since Miami. |

Unfortunately he just lost 1820 points from RG and will lose another 450 from Queens taking him down to 12680. If he doesn't play in Wimbledon, God forbid then he loses another 2000.
So the answer to the title is very much in doubt depending on his fitness |

vince
interesting point about Nadal and his position as No 1
Do you know why he is not attending Queens?
Does he have knee trouble again?
I am sure he will be on form for Wimblies.
Not long to wait... |

hey that's too bad about Rafael Nadal withdrawing from Queens
a title he won last year. As a result he will loose a lot of points when combined with his early departure at RG.
One wonders if this will affect his #1 ranking, should Federerererer win at RG.
Hope Rafa' s knee will be right for his defence of the big W. |

| You would have to think that Nadal will stay at the top for the next 18 months.A couple of players coming through may start to test him by then. |

| He has admitted he needs to improve on clay. Given his vast improvement in all aspects of his game in the last few months I think he will do better on clay this year.Hard to imagine him winning anything [on clay] though with Nadal around. |

Oops, forgot to add Murray's performance in Barcelona - R32.
If he can improve his claycourt game this season, he will have the opportunity to gain a heap of points and probably overtake loco Djoko.....
Didn't he train on clay in Spain as a junior? You'd think his clay game would have to be strong then, wouldn't you? |

It will be some time before Nadal loses the #1 ranking. He has made such a vast improvement to his game in recent times.
As for Murray, during last year's clay season, he managed R16 (Hamburg and Monte Carlo) and R32 (Rome and Roland Garros).
I recall he wasn't playing at his best this time last season and wonder if it was due to injury or has he also made huge improvements to his game since then? |

| I think he will, he is utterly dominant on clay and unlike previous years he is now a force to be reckoned with on hard/grass. Question is how will Murray fare on clay. |

| I think Nadal will remain number one if he doesn't get any major injuries, federer will stay number two, murray will move to three and joke will be at 4. |

| I disagree. The game is not as strong in England as it is in Spain or Switzerland.Murray is improving at an amazing rate. |
