""It will be a major upset if Roddick wins, akin to Soderling beating Nadal at RG".
Yes it will be an upset to thoswe that want and hope Federer will win but hardly akin the rafa been beaten by Soderling That was a third round match.... This is the final."
60% of people polled on www.tennisplanet.com consider Nadal losing to Soderling at RG to be the biggest upset of the year. Only 36% of people polled think the bigger upset will be Roddick beating Federer.
Doesn't matter if it was a 4th round match or a final - that was a major upset. |

Read into it what you like As I said I thought Roddick should win his semi final. For the final I say federer will demolish him. No connection between the two matches at all
I stand by what I said |

Apologies Geoff - didn't explain myself properly.
You said in your post yesterday (9.59am) to ZB that you did support Roddick. But then went on to say that you hoped he would win so Federer could 'demolish' him in the final....
I just thought that wasn't a very nice reason to support someone - just so someone else could thrash them in the next round....
Anyway, its no big deal, just an observation! |

With corrections
What isn't a nice thing to say. I said that I thought Roddick will beat Murray. Nothing about wanting Roddick in the finals in preference to Murray. I was talking about the semi finals match, nothing more, nothing less.
I have always supported Federer no matter who he was playing and have always said that. Why on earth would I change my mind now. It is the same as you always support rafa.
As for Federer playing Murray well he isn't . He was beaten by the better player on the night.
Whatever it will be a good night tonight |

| Andy does tend to go to pieces when he is playing Roger. He needs to learn how to let go of his past errors in a game and focus on the next point. |

| NO it will be THE BIGGEST UPSET AT ANY TIME IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS. Andy's record against Federer is abysmal. From memory they played 3 wimbledon matches and only twice has he won a set from Roger. |

Federer will probably win tonight but Roddick has improved immensely this season. It will be a major upset if Roddick wins, akin to Soderling beating Nadal at RG.
Whatever the outcome, I am sure we will see more tears from Federer :)
If it wasn't for Federer, then I am positive Roddick would have had a few more GS titles under his belt. I'll bet Roddick wishes he had been born a few years earlier and missed the Federer era!
------------------------
"Actually ZB will be suprised but I hope Roddick wins tonight then Federer can demolish him for the 19th time in the finals"
Geoff, that's not a very nice thing to say!
But then again, I am not surprised you would prefer to see Federer play Roddick instead of Murray. Murray has a winning H2H plus a MASSIVE home crowd support - I wouldn't be so sure of Federer's chances if he were playing Murray. |

No grsydney. Murray has not proven himself as a consistent player at the G.S. Also Roddick (probably with Stefanki's input) brilliantly exposed the big fella's movement up and down the court as a major weakness.
Yeah I would have liked to have seen Muzza prevail mailnly as it would be good to see new names and faces as winners. Sometimes I think I'm the only one in the world that feels that way. |

| For that match I thought Roddick had the edge on him regardless of what Muuray has achieved. The pressure got to him. He needs to get more experience in GS's which I am sure he will given time. he is young |

Congrats Andy for reaching another Wimbledon final is commendable.
Congrats to Roger in winning a historical 6th Wimbledon and 15th G.S.
Too bad Zed.
Barring an unlikely, monumental incomprehensible upset, or Federer is unable to play his best tennis for whatever reason,
I really can't see Andy winning. He may win a set but that's all. |

Agree Peen, Roddick has played a great tournament - a deserving finalist, he's been tested by a few and has come through each time.
I do think Federer is looking the better player, I think he's only dropped 1 set this tournament (I could be wrong, I haven't looked it up and I'm functioning on 3 hoours sleep).
Whoever wins will deserve it. |

He played .. and has played during this tournament... extremely well..
My wish is for Federer to set a new record
However, if Roddick wins the Final.. Absolutely Well Done.. |
