| I wouldn't say it's a farce ZEDHEAD. Can the org--isers help it if players withdraw either prior to - or during the Hopman cup. The players have to protect themselves in order to be set and healthy for the A.O. Yes It's tough on the organi.sers, the public and television broadcaster but that's the reality of it. hahaha haha |

| What a farce this tournament has turned into. Serena withdraws, Hewitt is washed up , Safin should retire and Switzerland doesn't play. |

and the winners get a diamond encrusted tennis ball.
You are right TLF. It is by invitation and I would expect that the Serbs were not becasue of what happened.
It was when Blake got the invite as well as Kooyong that he opted out of Sydney. |

| Novak played last year - it is by invitation - he and Jankovic teamed up - so much DRAMA - don't know whether they were invited and refused, or if they didn't even get an invite at all. The players seem to enjoy playing in Perth - no pressure, assured of at least three matches, and they have huge fun in the mixed usually. |

| I'm not sure how they pick the countries to be represented. But it is always a good warm up for those going on to the Australian Open. Of course there is always Serbia but Mr personality is doing a double act with his borther in Brisbane |

Pity we have no Spain, Switzerland or Serbia. Must be something with the S's. Only allowed one starting with the letter S.
Which one would Andy Murray play in? There would have to be a Great Britain otherwise he would have to represent Scotland. |

| Singles and mixed doubles - teams from USA (Serena W. and James Blake), Australia(Hewitt and Dellacqua), France (Simon), Russia (the Safin sis and bro), Germany, Slovak Republic, Italy and Chinese Taipei. Usually on the ABC and Foxtel. Enjoyable way to spend time if on holiday - first week of January |
