| You're entitled to you opinion, I disagree - I find one commentator (can't remember name "senior's moment") quite annoying, but most are good especially the former players, and compared to the view from Brisbane, the Hopman Cup is just fine. |

This year both the Hopman Cup and ABC coverage of it, has been stale and as boring as sh.t!
I think the ABC ought to find new commentators and at the very least try to emulate CBS' camera angles (such as more courtside level angles - particularly behind the reciever). |

"I said I would be very worried if Australia can't beat the yanks.I never said Australia would beat the yanks"
What's the difference?
Well you should be worried then because the US beat Australia 2/1. |

| I said I would be very worried if Australia can't beat the yanks.I never said Australia would beat the yanks. On the contrary my point was that with the USA playing so poorly ,if Australia can't beat them then I would be truly worried about the current quality of Australian tennis.Itis well known that you can't spell and show signs of dyslexia but maybe you need to bone up on english language comprehension. |

| Could you tell me the name of Nicholas Kiefer's father or is he is related to or knows of a Klaus Kiefer. Klaus spent time with my family when in Australia in around 1982. |

| I haven't watched any of it yet. The players list reads like a b grade movie.I would be very worried if Australia can't beat the yanks in what would be a dead rubber anyway. |

| Yes you were correct. I think however as the matches were close, "hammered" is probably not a true reflection. Besides, there's still another tie vs the U.S. Australia could win that. Hewitt is playing nowhere near his best. He's a paraody of his former self. |

Zedstar, The Hopman Cup is Round robin comp. Australia have three bites of the cherry. A second place is not out out of the question. Here's Australia's group-
U.S.A (Meghenn Shaughnessy & James Blake)
Australia (Casey Dellacqua & Hewitt)
Germany (Sabine Lisicki & Keifer)
Slovak Republic ( Dominika Cibulkova & Dominik Hrbaty)
They play Germany first up and should be the favourite as Keifer has a poor record against Hewitt.
Next up is Slovak Republic and that'll be 50-50 but Hrbaty has slipped and starting to age.
The U.S.A team will probably take out the group quite easily. |

| That doesn't mean the tv viewers are any more interested in the presentation than the live audience are. |

| I've noticed at live matches a large number of spectators ignore the speeches/carry on conversations during them/pack to depart, etc. Can't really see that it matters. |

| The thing is - if you're watching on tele you get BOTH a bathroom break and time to make a coffee - necessary when it's shown on the ABC and there is little time during the match. If you're watching at the venue - time to head off for a wine/coffee/etc. I mean does anyone listen to the speeches anyway? |

| phillaws based on your failure to answer my question regarding duration of Hopman Cup presentations, can we conclude therefore that there is not another tourney where presentations and ceremonies take so long. |

yeah TLF that's right. The Hopman cup used to be on Seven briefly in the early-mid 1990's.
Philaws, perhaps I didn't make my point clear. I was not knocking the Hopman Cup, only the after-final ceremonies.
To put it another way: Name another tournament where the ceremonies take as long as 20 minutes! No ceremonies/presentations should be expected to last that long, haha haha ha. |

| A chance to see good tennis, for those not from WA a chance to watch tennis on tele without the pain of channel 7 commentators (and ads) and it's round robin format not elimination so get chance to see all players more than once. Not to mention mixed doubles which are hardly EVER shown on seven plus Marat Safin and Giles Simon as icing on the cake (eye candy for this old lady). |

| Yeah I know what you mean dude. But at the end of the day, we should appreciate there is a lot of logistics involved in getting the HC going each year. Also is convenient strategically based near the burswood casino. |

| One thing about the Hopman cup that sucks is following the final result when they conduct the presentation of trophies, etc, they last average of 20 minutes. Recall one that went 26 minutes a few years ago. Something should be done about it. |
