| Rafael Nadal is the best tennis player ever! he'll finish his career with 20 grand slams. Nadal knows this is Federer's last chance so he purposely lost so Federer can get a chance of winning the French Open |

Peenpng he forgets what he writes as he spouts forth on so many threads.
Doesn't alter the fact Federer will be in another Grand Slam final and he will win one if not more. |

| McEnroe at his best would have beaten Fedex. In fifty years time when tennis historians look back it will be John McEnroe who will be remembered for changing the face of tennis for ever.Federer will be remembered as a great player who failed to achieve his ultimate goal. There will be other players who will pass Sampras's Slam record in the future but there will only be ever one McEnroe, the player with the silkiest hands of all time.I won't even bother to comment on Pat Rafter. |

browno
you cannot use present tense when someone is past tense
Pat Rafter was like a ballet dancer on court. He was born with natural skills.... but he wasnt No 1 for long enough to make a lasting stand.
Sorry.... |

Zedipoo
Now Now
How you dare to use the name McEnroe in the same sentence as Mr Federer..... Well...
Have you ever seen Mr F shout and pout and stamp and time waste or Heaven Forbid.... use two hands to his racquet!!!!
No.
Did you see prominent players shake their heads not knowing what else to do to win a point, when they had just played their best.... It happened over and over and over again.
He was THE best player with ease, natural born skill and only an idiot would deny it..
Go on deny it....!!! |

"Federer will never be considered the greatest male tennis player in history"
Maybe not in history but without doubt one of the greatest players of all times. That is an undisputable fact |

| You are making unreasonable comparisons between Fedex and Tiger Woods.Fedex is very near the end of his career.Woods on the other hand in golfing terms has probably another 10 years at the top of his game and will go on to be the greatest Slam winner in history.Something Federer will fail at.You make the point that Fedex has won the Australian Open and the U.S Open a number of times, something that Borg did not achieve. From memory Borg only competed at the Oz Open once in his entire career.Federer did not have to compete against 2 of the greatest players in history on a regular basis.McEnroe and Connors in case you forget.Federer will never be considered the greatest male tennis player in history. |

Federer is suffering from the frustration he had circa 2001. Whatever he did to change his mental structure is what he needs right now.
It is amazing really. Federer won almost everything for 5 years. Tiger Woods is not considered a certainty for any tournament he plays. Certainly he is a contender and often/sometimes wins regularly, but he never really dominated like federer did. Yet he unequivocally the best in the game and backable for any tournament.
Nobody suggests Tiger is finished, even though he has reworked his game significantly at least twice - involving significant layoffs.
Federer is on a run of semis and has been present at god knows how many finals in a row (if you disregard the Aus open of 2008)
Yet the baggers think he is fair game. ??? So he loses a couple of games. He is human but held to some sort of godlike standard?
Federer dominated like bradman did. Even borg never won the US or Aus opens (federer currently has 5 a run of consecutive US Opens and has won the Aus open 3 times with 2 semis appearances and one finals)
But it is fair enough if he makes 4 of the last 4 grand slam finals isn't it? He made every final of 2007 and pretty sure every final of 2007
my two cents |

Again your personal thoughts are NOT those shared by others. How do you know what other players feel or think.
Sure some have had success over Federer recently but there is nothing stated that gives relevence to your opinion that he is not liked by other players. Any commetns that I ahve seen are not against him personally. They are pleased sure that they have had a win against him.
You talk trash where it is not warranted |

| Federer is not too old in real terms. It is just that his mind has not been able to handle the expectations that he put himself under in the latter part of his Slam chase. He became too arrogant and I do not believe he is well liked by the other players if you get the real truth and not the PR blurb. There have been more than a few players who could not contain their obvious joy in beating Fedex recently. It certainly has looked more personal than professional as of late.Sampras was more humble. |
