| Agassi won 5 major titles or GS titles after the age of 29 - Federer is a class player and there is no reason why he couldn't surpass the record set by Sampras.... |

Federer is only 27, how old were Pete and Andre when they called it quits? They were both in their 30s and they were both genuine slam contenders right to the end.
Federer has at least 3 top years left in him - enough for 5 or 6 more grand slam titles. |

<<It is useless saying anything good about Federer to ZB as he is so one-eyed he can't see past Rodding or not he has added Murray to his collection.>>
The hypocrite grsydney at his best.
It is useless saying anything good about Hewitt to grsydney as he is so one-eyed he can't see past Federer. |

"nole is on the rise to finally claim his rightfull 1st place"
Wow, how is it his rightful place? That is quite a big call.
For something to be rightful, it needs to be fitting and earned. If Nole ever gets the #1 spot, then it will be because he finally earned it. He has no claim on it now and to say it is his rightful place is to imply it has been taken from him - WTF? |

Skippiglet.
It is useless saying anything good about Federer to ZB as he is so one-eyed he can't see past Rodding or not he has added Murray to his collection.
I still eblieve that Federer will get at least one more Grand Slam title this year and who knows maybe more. There is alot of tennis left in him yet. I don't think it is a case of his getting back to #1. His main objective is getting another GS title.
Yes and ZB. you can forget about making your usual filth comments in response |

We're still here ZB - just been a bit busy with the tipping comp...
As for the title of this thread "Will Federer be Number One Again" - not too sure on that one.
Roger looks to be getting back his form but in the meantime he has a lot of challengers to get through before he can reach the final. And each of these challengers can do a bit of damage and weaken him before any final appearance.
Murray is a very serious contender, having beaten Federer, Nadal and Roddick this month. He seems to be in devastating form and will, should he have no further problems with his back, more than likely go very deep, if not to the end.
Federer has to face Safin next - this could be a bit of a grind although Federer does have a winning H2H (9-2) with Safin's last win coming at the AO 2005.
Then it's either Berdych (7-1) or Stan Wawrinka (2-0 and might as well not have turned up at Kooyong, what a p.u.s.s.y.)
Del Potro might give him a bit of trouble in the QF but I think he'll have a fairly clear run to the SF. Can't see him letting loco Djoko getting the better of him this time - Novak is getting a bit flaky and I'm surprised to when I read that he has gotten through to the next round!
Don't know about him regaining #1 though - the level of competition has been gone up several notches in recent times. He might get it back but will he retain it?
One thing for sure, I think he has a couple more Major or Grand Slam titles in him and will surpass the record set by Sampras.... |

ZB and I thought you were smart. If you had observed a comment a few times on a couple or the threads, the regulars you refer to have found a site of their own to do the tipping on and make our own comments without the c.r.a.p.that we have to put up with. Dont worry we are still around to make comments when we want to |

Nadal needs to prove he is capable of winning big matches on hard courts.
The Aus Open and the US Open have not been kind to the number 1. He made the semi here last year, but he doesn't look as sharp (in general) in these events as he does at the French or Wimbledon.
He looked great last night, but if his form doesn't hold and he bows out around the 4th round then the door is well and truly open for Federer to return to the top spot.
I'm just enjoying the friendly rivalry the two have developed, regardless of which player has the 1 beside his name. |

| you are pirceless ZB. Unless something fits into your thinking then you dismiss it. Respect the fact that many others still think Federer has a lot of tennis left in him yet. Why the hell should he quit when he wants to continue and many want him to continue |
